Publication number: 20230417870Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for identifying a minimal, or at least reduced, set of representative calibration paths in radio frequency (RF) circuits and calibrating other calibration paths based on calibration codes used for the representative calibration paths. An example method generally includes receiving a calibration data set including measurements associated with each calibration path of a plurality of calibration paths in an RF circuit. Based on a clustering model and the calibration data set, a plurality of calibration clusters is generated. From each respective calibration cluster of the plurality of calibration clusters, a respective representative calibration path for is selected for the respective calibration cluster. Generally, calibration codes generated for the representative calibration path are applicable to other calibration paths in the calibration cluster.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 24, 2022Publication date: December 28, 2023Inventors: Tharun Adithya SRIKRISHNAN, Intae KANG, Supratik BHATTACHARJEE, Christos KOMNINAKIS, Michael Lee MCCLOUD, Gautham HARIHARAN, Minkui LIU, Gary John BALLANTYNE

Publication number: 20230300671Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a receiving device, such as a user equipment (UE), may reduce packet congestion associated with communications between the receiving device and a transmitting device, such as a server, via a radio access network (RAN). The receiving device may measure congestion metrics associated with receiving data packets from the transmitting device via the RAN. The congestion metrics may include RAN congestion metrics and transport or application layer congestion metrics associated with the network connection between the receiving device and the transmitting device. The receiving device may estimate packet congestion at the receiving device according to the measured congestion metrics. The receiving device may modify connection parameters of the network connection based on the estimated packet congestion.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2022Publication date: September 21, 2023Inventors: Yubing Jian, Arvind Vardarajan Santhanam, Ertugrul Necdet CIFTCIOGLU, Arnaud Meylan, Reza Shahidi, Supratik Bhattacharjee, Gautham Hariharan

Patent number: 11671202Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may adaptively switch between hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) monitoring modes to support power savings. In a first HARQ skipping mode, the UE may transmit an uplink message corresponding to a HARQ identifier and may receive a positive acknowledgment (ACK) message in a HARQ monitoring occasion associated with the HARQ identifier. Upon receiving the ACK message, the UE refrains from monitoring a subsequent HARQ monitoring occasion associated with the HARQ identifier while in the first HARQ skipping mode (e.g., an aggressive HARQ skipping mode). The UE may periodically enter a periodic evaluation mode from the first HARQ skipping mode, in which the UE monitors a subsequent HARQ monitoring occasion after receiving an ACK message to check for false ACK messages. If a false ACK message is detected, the UE enters a first HARQ skipping prohibited mode.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2020Date of Patent: June 6, 2023Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Ahmed Omar Desouky Ali, Brian Clarke Banister, Supratik Bhattacharjee, Udayan Murli Bhawnani, Jittra Jootar, Timothy Paul Pals, Rebecca Wen-Ling Yuan, Arvind Vardarajan Santhanam, Zhibin Dang, Omesh Kumar Handa, Sibasish Das, Chetan Jagdeesh Bharadwaj, Gautham Hariharan, Min Wang, Farrukh Rashid, Nan Zhang, Sumanth Kumar Kota

Publication number: 20230098652Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for receive chain selection at a user equipment (UE) with efficient switching between a reduced number of receive chains and an increased number of receive chains for downlink communications based on conditions at the UE. A UE may adaptively adjust the number of active receive chains based on downlink grant activity, channel conditions, network parameters, or any combinations thereof. An estimator block at the UE may determine to adjust the number of receive chains based on a number of downlink grants within one or more time periods. In some cases, grants for an amount of data that exceeds a threshold may be qualified in order to be counted at the estimation block. Further, a transient state may be provided where the UE may maintain a higher number of active receive chains until UE feedback is provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 20, 2022Publication date: March 30, 2023Inventors: Arash Ebadi Shahrivar, Peter Pui Lok Ang, Chinmay Shankar Vaze, Brian Clarke Banister, Raghu Narayan Challa, Alexei Yurievitch Gorokhov, Aamod Khandekar, Chun-Hao Hsu, Gautham Hariharan, Ambarish Tripathi, Shailesh MAHESHWARI, Sivaguru NARASAREDDY
