  • Patent number: 7011186
Abstract: In a method for determining the state of a motor vehicle brake, particularly the brake-lining state or the brake-lining thickness, a temperature sensor is arranged in the brake lining of the motor vehicle brake, and the temperature detected by the sensor is used to determine the brake state. In addition to a first temperature value, at least one second temperature value detected after the first temperature value and the time duration between the detection time points of the two temperature values are employed. The brake state is determined based on an evaluation of a time profile of temperature values sensed by said sensor.

  • Publication number: 20040155523
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for modifying and adjusting the braking force in a hydraulic brake system in a vehicle, whereby the pedal control exercised by the driver is measured and is converted via a predefined function into braking pressure to be produced in a wheel brake device, said pressure corresponding to a deceleration of the vehicle. In order to increase the braking safety, the braking pressure or the variable correlating with the braking pressure can be individually manipulated as a function of the pedal control within a section of said pedal control between the initial starting point and maximum pedal control point.

  • Patent number: 6671604
Abstract: A method for variably setting the braking force in a hydraulic brake system of a motor vehicle with a brake pressure is produced which is applied to a wheel-braking device. In order to compensate a diminishing braking effect in hydraulic brake systems in wide ranges, the real actual friction factor between the brake disc and brake pad of at least one wheel brake is determined and compared with a prescribable desired friction factor, in the event of an impermissible undershooting of the actual friction factor by comparison with the desired friction factor, the brake pressure or a variable correlated with the brake pressure being increased to a value multiplied by a correction factor if the actual friction factor is within a defined friction factor stabilization range which comprises a plurality of friction factors below the desired friction factor.

  • Patent number: 6557951
Abstract: A brake system with hydraulic brake boosting has a hydraulic actuating unit which comprises a hydraulic reservoir, a brake pedal, a brake-pressure generator and a pedal-travel simulator, a hydraulic unit comprising a pressure generator, a hydraulic wheel-brake device and a control unit for coordinating the functions of the actuating unit, of the hydraulic unit and of the wheel-brake device. The pedal-travel simulator possesses a variable displacement volume which is connected to the hydraulic reservoir via a hydraulic line. In order to design electrohydraulic brakes by simple means so as to be more fail-safe, a return line is provided between the wheel-brake device and the displacement volume of the pedal-travel simulator.

  • Patent number: 6152642
Abstract: In a connection between a first component having a U-shaped fork with two essentially parallel spaced legs having recesses formed therein and a second component having a portion disposed between the legs and a bolt extending into the recesses, the ends of the bolt are engaged in the recesses by spring clamps which hold the bolt in firm contact with wall portions of the recesses so as to provide for a play-free pivot connection between the two components.
