  • Patent number: 4351627
Abstract: A device for discharging bulk material so as to effect uniform descent of the bulk material. A rotary screw conveyor is surrounded by an elongated drum, the drum and the screw conveyor being rotated independently of each other and mounted for movement together in a straight line path perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the screw conveyor and drum. The drum is prevented from detrimental deflection during long periods of non-use, and is easy to start up after such long periods of non-use.

  • Patent number: 4289579
Abstract: PCT No. PCT/SE78/00092 Sec. 371 Date Aug. 10, 1979 Sec. 102(e) Date Aug. 10, 1979 PCT Filed Dec. 11, 1978 PCT Pub. No. WO79/00375 PCT Pub. Date June 28, 1979A bulk material is treated in a drum rotating in a bulk of the bulk material to be treated. The drum (16, 68) is provided with feeding-in openings (28, 70) in the cylindrical face of the drum. The bulk material tumbles around in the drum and is conveyed towards a discharge part in one end of the drum by means of a worm conveyor in the drum rotating in opposite direction to the drum. A treatment fluid is introduced into the drum through apertures (11a, 85) in the shaft of the worm conveyor. After the fluid has treated the bulk material in the drum it is led away through the same openings (28, 70) as those through which the bulk material is continuously being fed into the drum. Further the fluid advances up into the bulk of bulk material which therethrough also is treated before the material is fed into the drum.

  • Patent number: 4266902
Abstract: A transport container of conventional parallelepiped form is disclosed, wherein the container includes a perforated drum and a worm conveyor inside of the drum for loading and discharging bulk material into and out of the container. The drum and the worm conveyor are rotated in opposite directions, and are positioned in one of the corners of the container extending from one gable of the container to the other. The drum and worm conveyor permit the container to be completely and evenly filled with a bulk material, or completely emptied, without substantial dust formation. During loading operation the corner in which the drum and worm conveyor are located is turned upwards, and during discharge operation the same corner is turned downward.

  • Patent number: 4220242
Abstract: A screw conveyor for feeding solid granular material including a rotary shaft with a screw blade, a drum surrounding the screw blade and concentric with it, and a bearing supporting the shaft for rotation with respect to the drum at an intermediate axial position of the shaft. The screw blade is discontinued at the bearing, having two end portions spaced apart a distance greater than the axial length of the bearing along the shaft. Arms connect the bearing to the drum for applying an axial force to the material being fed past the discontinuity in the screw blade upon relative rotation between the screw blade and the drum. The drum and shaft are normally rotated in different directions. The arm makes a positive angle of about 15.degree. to 50.degree.
