  • Patent number: 11949956
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided herein for generating notifications based on the interests of guests. Guests may request notifications on their host's television, and the system will generate notifications based on the guest's interests and preferences as stored in the guest's user profile. In doing so, the guest will be notified of events of interest, such as when a favorite sports team scores a point or when an important scene in a favorite movie is playing. The system monitors the network of the apartment or house and detects when a guest device is accessing the network. The system then accesses the guest's interests and identifies a set of programs based on these interests. The system then monitors these programs and generates notifications on the display device when an event of interest has occurred in one of the identified programs.

  • Publication number: 20240092128
Abstract: An articulating tire valve install-removal tool and related methods for use. The articulating tire valve install-removal tool has a body comprising an outer perimeter, an inner recess, a threaded member, a linkage, and a contact member. The articulating tire valve install-removal tool components are connected to each other and secured within the body so one or more components can rotate around one or more axes. Together these components facilitate in the valve being installed and removed perpendicular or generally perpendicular to the valve hole on the wheel. The articulating tire valve stem tool includes a linkage assembly that is attached to the body to facilitate in ensuring the valve is installed and removed with the valve perpendicular to the valve hole in the wheel rim.

  • Patent number: 11903383
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for the cryopreservation of biological samples involving a density assisted vitrification wherein a sample of biological material in a cryopreservation agent is cooled from its top surface, causing an ice layer to form thereon. As cooling continues the ice layer grows downwards through the sample to provide a cryoprotectant and biological material rich layer below the ice layer that undergoes vitrification as cooling continues to below the glass transition temperature.

  • Publication number: 20230087757
Abstract: A nanopore-based sequencing chip can have a surface with an array of wells, with each well having a working electrode. Charge can be established within the wells by applying a voltage between the working electrodes and a counter electrode. The charge can then be trapped within the wells by sealing the wells with a membrane. The trapped charge can be used to facilitate pore insertion into the membranes.

  • Publication number: 20230090050
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating a search index for a hierarchical data set so that a search query of the hierarchical data may return results without searching or analyzing the hierarchical data set itself. The techniques generate a flattened index that includes selected indexed attributes and additional attributes to be displayed with the indexed attributes. The techniques also generate a hierarchy representation of the hierarchical data. Using these generated data structures, query results may be returned without directly traversing the hierarchical data itself while also providing data and hierarchical context for the query results by overlaying the query results with nodes of the hierarchical representation or otherwise concurrently displaying the query results with nodes of the hierarchical representation.

  • Patent number: 11576373
Abstract: Apparatus are provided for preventing the formation of ice crystals in a biological sample containing a non-Newtonian fluid as a cryopreservation medium. The apparatus may be used to prevent ice formation during cryopreservation of biological samples, or during warming of cryopreserved biological samples, by changing the viscosity of the non-Newtonian fluid. The apparatus (200) comprises a housing (202) for a container (212) containing the biological sample (214) and the non-Newtonian fluid, and a device (204) for inducing a change in viscosity of the cryopreservation medium. The change in viscosity may be increased by inducing shear thickening of the cryopreservation medium, or the change in viscosity may be decreased by inducing shear thinning of the cryopreservation medium. Possible viscosity-changing devices comprise a tapping device, a piston, a rotating device, a compression device, a sound generating device, a permanent magnet or a electromagnetic field generating device.

  • Publication number: 20230026911
Abstract: A method performed by an electronic device includes retrieving, from a first computing environment, a first set of structured documents that contains metadata for a first version of a workflow to be performed by a workflow engine, the first version of the workflow including a first set of workflow elements. The method further including retrieving, from a second computing environment, a second set of structured documents. The method determines whether a rule is to be applied, based on one but not both of the first and second sets of structured documents including at least one section for a workflow element having a type to which the rule applies, and generating a description of a change in the second version of the workflow relative to the first version of the workflow.
