  • Patent number: 10280569
Abstract: A golf course bunker drainage system has been developed that is a modular structure taking the form of a plurality of porous bunker paver blocks formed of material exhibiting vertical and horizontal infiltration rates at least the same as bunker sand. The plurality of porous bunker paver blocks is disposed as a boundary layer between a bunker subsoil bottom surface and overlying bunker sand, allowing rainwater to drain into the subsoil, with excess rainwater directed away from the bunker sand. The use of bunker paver blocks also maintains the integrity of the bunker shape and prevents movement of sand and other materials along steeply sloping bunker sidewalls.

  • Publication number: 20180374226
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for assisting in providing consistent alignment of a handheld intra-oral imaging device for a series of images. Live image data of the patient is received from the intra-oral image capture device and displayed on the display. A previously stored intra-oral image of the patient is accessed from the non-transitory memory and an alignment mask is generated based on the accessed previously stored intra-oral image. The system determines whether the live image data is aligned with the alignment mask. The system then automatically captures a new intra-oral image of the patient from the live image data in response to determining that the live image data is aligned with the alignment mask and stores the new intra-oral image to the non-transitory memory, displays the new intra-oral image on the display, or both.

  • Patent number: 10131834
Abstract: Self-suspending proppants including proppant particles coated with a CO2-philic coating are provided. The CO2-philic coating may be lightly crosslinked and may have a physical structure that constrains CO2 molecules. Methods of making self-suspending proppants may include coating a proppant particle with a polymerizable precursor material of a CO2-philic material and polymerizing the polymerizable precursor material to form a self-suspending proppant are also provided. Additionally, hydraulic fracturing fluids that may include a CO2-based fluid and the self-suspending proppants and methods of treating subterranean formations by contacting a subterranean formation with hydraulic fracturing fluid and propagating at least one subterranean fracture are provided.

Abstract: A safety hammer is provided that may be designed to prevent injuries caused by flying nails when users accidentally fail to strike nails on their heads. The present invention may provide for a wooden handle with finger grooves. The wooden handle may be reinforced with a steel rod to add strength and attach the handle to the tempered steel head. Close to the end used for striking nails, the present invention may provide for a pin configured to attach the metal shield to the end used for striking nails. The track in the shield may fit over the pin to ensure the pin is positioned correctly around the face of the present invention's hammer face. In some embodiments, the shield may be secured by magnets, which may be embedded around the present invention's hammer head. The present invention may also provide for a fulcrum point that may be oriented above the nail removal portion of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 10062200
Abstract: A visualization system for displaying volumetric renderings includes a display, a user input actuator that is movable over a first range, a second range, and a third range, and a processor. The second range is located between the first range and the third range. The processor is configured to generate a first volumetric rendering according to a first transfer function when the user input actuator is positioned in the first range, and generate the first volumetric rendering according to a second transfer function when the user input actuator is positioned in the third range. The second transfer function is different than the first transfer function. The processor is further configured to generate the first volumetric rendering according to a blending of the first transfer function and the second transfer function when the user input actuator is positioned in the second range, and display the first volumetric rendering on the display.

  • Patent number: 10037686
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for preventing false alarms during alarm sensitivity threshold changes in fire alarm systems. Some methods can include determining a current state of a connected system, determining a current alarm sensitivity threshold of the connected system, determining a future alarm sensitivity threshold of the connected system, and identifying a future false alarm when the current state would trigger an actual alarm under the future alarm sensitivity threshold but fails to trigger the actual alarm under the current alarm sensitivity threshold. Responsive to identifying the future false alarm, some methods can include executing a first action to prevent the future false alarm from occurring.

  • Publication number: 20180203571
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for generating a GUI model for an application based upon requirements information for an application. The requirements information may include an image of a GUI screen (or multiple images of multiple screens) included in the GUI for the application. The GUI model generated based upon the input image may include information about the type and placement (layout) of GUI components in the GUI screen, and may also include information indicative of one or more functions to be assigned to one or more of the GUI components in the GUI screen. The GUI model may then be used to generate an implementation of the application GUI, including generating executable code that implements the GUI screen.
