  • Publication number: 20180075746
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to beamforming from a vehicle user equipment (UE). In a first aspect, a beamform vector is selected based on beamform data received from a scheduling entity. Here, the beamform data corresponds to a path between a vehicle UE and a base station or another vehicle, and the beamform vector includes respective phases and amplitudes corresponding to each of a plurality of antennas of the vehicle UE. A beam is then generated in accordance with the beamform vector. In another aspect, a database of beamform data is maintained, and beamform data from the database is retrieved. Here, the retrieved beamform data corresponds to a particular location pair that includes a first location associated with a location of a vehicle UE, and a second location associated with a location of a base station or another vehicle. The beamform data is then transmitted to the vehicle UE.

  • Patent number: 9881143
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided in connection with providing private expression protection in a wireless communications network. In one example, a UE is equipped to internally receive a request (e.g., from an application running on the UE) to announce a private expression and/or at least a reference to an expression-code associated with the private expression, and determine whether the reference to the expression-code and/or the expression-code matches a stored instance of the expression-code. In an aspect, the UE may be equipped to announce the at least one of the private expression or the expression-code when stored instance of the expression-code corresponds to the expression-code received with the request. In another aspect, the UE may be equipped to prohibit announcement of any information associated with the private expression when stored expression-code does not correspond to the expression-code received with the request.

  • Publication number: 20170295556
Abstract: A UE registers with a paging hub to a message forwarding service that is configured to forward information from messages wirelessly transmitted by two or more RANs associated with different RAT-types to the UE over a local wireless network that is separate from the two or more RANs. The UE refrains from monitoring a set of downlink wireless channels used by the two or more RANs while the paging hub monitors the set of downlink wireless channels on behalf of the UE. The paging hub detects a signaling message that is targeted to the UE by a given RAN, and forwards a message including information derived from the signaling message to the local wireless network for transmission to the UE. The UE receives the forwarded message and selectively communicates with the given RAN in response to the received message.

  • Patent number: 9762478
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that facilitate multiple registrations and flow based mobility in a wireless communication network. A flow routing component can be included in a mobile device, home agent/p-gateway, or a policy and charging rules function server that determines the manner in which to route one or more IP flows through a set of network access entry points. The flow routing component can determine the routing based on a set of policies and/or network data, such as quality of service requirements, bandwidth requirements, network congestion, currently active IP flows, and so forth.

  • Patent number: 9591685
Abstract: The disclosure generally relates to synchronizing application account data using out-of-band device-to-device (D2D) communication between peer wireless devices. More particularly, a first device may generate a local unique expression that includes a name, one or more user credentials, and a last update time associated with an application registered for a D2D-based application synchronization service. In response to detecting one or more external unique expressions from one or more peer devices in proximity that match the name and the user credentials associated with the registered application, the first device may then identify, among the one or more peer devices, an update device associated with an external unique expression having a last update time more recent than the last update time associated with the local unique expression and request an update to synchronize the application account data associated with the registered application from the update device over an out-of-band D2D connection.
