  • Patent number: 5085717
Abstract: An autopyrolyzable solid composition for aerobic propulsion consists essentially of an oxidizing agent, a binder and a crosslinking agent. The oxidizing agent is a nitrated explosive material wherein the amount, by weight, of oxygen atoms fixed to the nitrogen atoms of the nitrate groups exceeds 40 percent relative to the total weight of the molecule. The binder is a polyalkadiene having functional terminal groups, such as --OH or --COOH groups, reactive with the crosslinking agent which can have isocyanate, epoxy or aziridinyl functions.

  • Patent number: 4823083
Abstract: A magnetic field measuring head comprises the following elements integrated into one and the same substrate: a light source, a light guide insensitive to the magnetic field, a layer of magnetic material which, when plunged into a magnetic field to be measured, causes the rotation of the plane of polarization of the light coming from the source, and a device to measure the rotation of the plane of polarization of the light.

  • Patent number: 4747891
Abstract: The binder/charge adhesive of the present invention makes it possible to improve the bonding between the charges and the polyurethane binder of a propellent composition. This agent is an aminoaziridinylphosphine oxide of general formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are identical or different and denote a hydrogen atom or a methyl or ethyl radical. The present invention finds application particularly in the field of the manufacture of solid propellent compositions.

  • Patent number: 4731581
Abstract: A measurement head for a magnetic field gradient vector measuring apparatus, comprising essentially a laser diode emitting two light beams aligned along the same axis. Two magnetic field measuring cells are placed in the paths of these light beams. Each cell comprises a wafer coated with a layer of a magnetic material forming a waveguide. The purpose of each cell is to measure the Faraday effect on the polarization of the magnetic field by using a zero method. A difference circuit then calculates the difference between the commands given to each cell so as to find the value of the magnetic field gradient.

  • Patent number: 4697145
Abstract: A process and apparatus for measuring a magnetic field based on the Faraday effect rotation of a light beam passing through a ferrimagnetic coating subject to a magnetic field to be measured is shown. The magnetization direction within the ferrimagnetic coating is coherently oriented by applying a high amplitude alternating magnetic field oriented in accordance with the axis of the light beam. This is followed by a progressive reduction of the amplitude of this magnetic field and the magnetic field to be measured is compensated. A system and a measuring cell making it possible to perform said process is also shown.

  • Patent number: 4516073
Abstract: A magnetometer measuring head is divided into two separate sub-units, including a first sub-unit including means for transmission and detection of polarized light is coupled via a fibre to a second sub-unit comprising a thin layer of magnetic material within which is guided the light wave transmitted by the fibre. The coupling with the fibre is established via the edge, the opposed end of the layer being provided with a mirror so that the guided wave follows an outgoing and returning path before being retransmitted to the detection means which measure the rotation of the polarization of the light caused by Faraday effect.

  • Patent number: 4449096
Abstract: The invention relates to magnetometers making it possible to measure a magnetic field by the Faraday effect in a thin YIG layer which involves taking a YIG layer which is sufficiently thick to permit a multimode transmission of the polarized light beam, as well as the entrance and exit of said beam from the edge of the layer. This device makes it possible to produce a magnetometer head, whose elements are integrated on a substrate and whose volume is approximately 1 cm.sup.3.

  • Patent number: 4065677
Abstract: The invention relates to electrically controlled switching devices in which a movable member can occupy at least two stable positions. The invention has for its object to provide a switching device in which the movable member is a dielectric body having received a persistent electric charge. This body can occupy stable positions defined on an insulating support by conductive pads. The switching is produced by a potential difference applied between the conductive pads.
