  • Patent number: 4419637
Abstract: A magnetostatic wave device in which waves propagate in a layer of magnetic material grown on a non-magnetic crystalline substrate with a grating arranged in the wave path for modifying propagation velocity. The grating is formed by ion implantation without removal of magnetic material so coupling with spin modes is avoided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 28, 1982
Date of Patent: December 6, 1983
    Assignee: Thomson-CSF
    Inventors: Gerard Volluet, Pierre Hartemann
  • Patent number: 4392115
Abstract: The volume magnetostatic wave device comprises a unidirectional-radiation transducer composed of equidistant microstrips connected to a polyphase transformer and coupled to a ferrimagnetic wafer which is subjected to a polarizing magnetic field.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 13, 1981
Date of Patent: July 5, 1983
    Assignee: Thomson-CSF
    Inventors: Gerard Volluet, Pierre Hartemann
  • Patent number: 4316162
Abstract: The invention relates to bulk or surface magnetostatic wave devices. The invention provides in the ferrimagnetic substrate of such a device, at least one area with absorption increased by a treatment consisting in local sanding of the substrate or its support to produce several defects by the impact of abrasive particles. The invention is applicable to magnetostatic wave lines and filters.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 2, 1980
Date of Patent: February 16, 1982
    Assignee: Thomson-CSF
    Inventors: Gerard Volluet, Daniel Cohen
  • Patent number: 4209759
Abstract: The invention relates to an interaction device comprising a non-magnetic substrate, a thin easy-plane magnetic layer, two piezoelectric transducers arranged at the ends of the magnetic layer and respectively receiving the two electrical signals to be treated. The signals applied are converted into elastic surface waves which are transmitted to the magnetic layer in the form of magnetoelastic waves propagated in opposite directions. The device is subjected to an external magnetic field. The variations in magnetization in the interaction zone are collected by a detection plate and characterize the interaction between the two signals.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 20, 1978
Date of Patent: June 24, 1980
    Assignee: Thomson-CSF
    Inventor: Gerard Volluet
  • Patent number: 4137470
Abstract: The invention relates to elastic surface-wave structures. The elastic surface wave structure in accordance with the invention comprises a non magnetic substrate and a surface wave transducer containing at least one emissive zone situated in a deposited layer of magnetostrictive material subjected to an alternating magnetic field and to a magnetic polarization field.
