  • Patent number: 7284981
Abstract: Functional handpiece 1 having an elongate handpiece body which has at its rearward end a connection element for connection with a flexible supply line, and has at its forward end a light emission element of a light permeable material for the illumination of the treatment site, and has in the light emission element an outlet opening for a medium such as water or air or spray, the light emission element forming a forward region of the functional handpiece and being releasably connected with the remaining region of the functional handpiece, and the light emission element having a plug-in fitting for the light emission element.

  • Patent number: 7267547
Abstract: A device for regulated heating of media in a dental handpiece has at least one media line which can be opened via a switch, a heating element associated with the media line, a temperature sensor detecting the temperature of the medium and a regulation circuit which is connected with the temperature sensor and controls the heating element in dependence upon the sensor signals. After actuation of the switch the heating element is operated for a short period of time at a predetermined heating power independent of the output signal of the regulation circuit, in order to heat the medium as rapidly as possible to the required temperature.

  • Patent number: 6616450
Abstract: The invention relates to a medical or dental-medical treatment instrument (1) having a grip sleeve (11), an oscillatory rod (13) which extends longitudinally in the grip sleeve (11) and is mounted therein in a radially or also axially elastically yielding manner, and an oscillation generator (31) for transmitting oscillations to the oscillatory rod (13). In order to attain a compact construction, the oscillatory rod (13) is of a base part and an attachment part which is fixed on the base part.

  • Patent number: 6602073
Abstract: The invention relates to a medical or dental-medical treatment instrument (1) having a rod-like handpiece (2) with the forward end region of which a tool (3) can be releasably coupled by means of a tool coupling (4), and the rearward end region of which can be releaseably coupled with a connection part (6) by means of a handpiece coupling (5), preferably a plug-in/turn coupling, the handpiece having: a grip sleeve (11) which forms an outer body of the handpiece (2), an oscillatory rod (13) which extends longitudinally in the grip sleeve (11) and is mounted therein radially or also axially elastically yieldingly, an in particular pneumatic oscillation generator (31) for transmitting oscillations to the oscillatory rod (13), and a sleeve (14) surrounding the oscillation generator (31). For reducing noise emissions, the sleeve (14) is of elastically compressible or sound-absorbing material.

  • Patent number: 6176703
Abstract: In a medical or dental treatment instrument (1) for chip-removing treatment of body tissue or a substitute material with an abrasive tool (7), consisting of a handpiece (2) with an oblong gripping sleeve (41), in the front end area of which a vibration part (4) is supported, which can be set vibrating by a vibration generator (5), the handpiece (2) being connected or connectable at its rear end area to a flexible supply line (18), which extends from a supply device, the output of the vibration generator (5) is variable, and a control device (72) is provided with which the output can be increased or reduced.
