  • Patent number: 7503306
Abstract: An air guide is disclosed for a bonnet-covered engine bay of a goods vehicles, in particular agricultural tractors, where under the bonnet are located a combustion engine (1), components under high thermal load and low thermal load, and a fan which generates an air flow which is directed through air guide ducts past the combustion engine into the open. As the air flow from the fan heats up greatly on the combustion engine, there is a risk of a deterioration in the functioning of heat-sensitive components exposed to the air flow.

  • Patent number: 7467679
Abstract: A radiator module for commercial motor vehicles, in particular for agricultural tractors, has a support plate fixed to the chassis and at least one coolant radiator fixed to the support plate. The radiator has a radiator block and two coolant tanks oriented at opposite ends of the block with one tank adjacent the support plate and one spaced away form the support plate. In order to increase the cooling performance of the radiator module despite keeping the installation space above the support plate constant it is proposed that the coolant tank near the plate is constructed from two mutually complementing tank parts. The first tank part is assigned to the radiator block and has an encircling flange for pressure sealed attachment of the coolant radiator on the support plate. A second tank part is assigned to the support plate. By dividing the coolant tank into two parts, one on the radiator block and one on the support plate the effective heat sink area of the coolant radiator can be substantially increased.

  • Publication number: 20070000705
Abstract: A radiator module for commercial motor vehicles, in particular for agricultural tractors, has a support plate (7) fixed to the chassis and at least one coolant radiator (10) fixed to the support plate. The radiator has a radiator block (17) and two coolant tanks (19, 20) oriented at opposite ends of the block with one tank (20) adjacent the support plate (7) and one (19) spaced away form the support plate. In order to increase the cooling performance of the radiator module (6) despite keeping the installation space above the support plate (7) constant it is proposed that the coolant tank near the plate (20) is constructed from two mutually complementing tank parts (26, 28). The first tank part (26) is assigned to the radiator block (17) and has an encircling flange (25) for pressure sealed attachment of the coolant radiator (10) on the support plate (7). A second tank part (28) is assigned to the support plate (7).

  • Patent number: 7077409
Abstract: A commercial vehicle with a technically simple single wheel suspension for the wheels mounted in wheel supports, guaranteeing safe protection of the cardan shaft driving the wheels from harmful influences, includes a wheel support (8; 33), which a) together with a spring arm (7; 35) forms a longitudinal swinging arm (16; 21; 37) which is articulated to the gearbox (1) in front of the wheel (4) in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, b) extends directly to the gearbox (2; 25; 32) and c) fully receives the cardan shaft (12) arranged between the output shaft (5) of the gearbox (2; 25; 32) and the assigned wheel shaft (10).

  • Patent number: 6764526
Abstract: A dry air filter for combustion engines of commercial vehicles with a device to produce compressed air, whereby the dry air filter (4) consisting of a filter housing (5) containing a filter cartridge (7) and a dust preliminary filtering stage (6), with an exhaust (8) for the dust discharged from the preliminary filtering stage which has a nozzle shaped section in which compressed air that is produced is blown through a conduit in the direction of the free opening by an ejector effect. In order that the air filter is easier to service and maintain, the compressed air is fed over a ring slot (28) into the exhaust (8) and is blown in the direction of the open outlet (21) for the purpose of creating an ejector effect to keep the exhaust free from dust. Compressed air is blown through the exhaust so that blockages cannot build up there nor in the area of the preliminary filtering stage. Specific, regular supervision of this area therefore becomes necessary.

  • Patent number: 6585789
Abstract: In a dry air filter for internal combustion engines of utility vehicles having an outlet for the dust separated in a preliminary separator stage, compressed air is delivered to the outlet, at least intermittently, and in order to produce an ejector action to keep the outlet and optionally the dust discharge valve closing off the outlet free of dust, is blown in the direction of the dust discharge valve. Preferably, surplus compressed air already to hand from an on-board compressed air generating system is used for this purpose. In order to improve the cleaning action, the compressed air is delivered into the outlet via a nozzle.
