  • Patent number: 6109518
Abstract: A heat-insulating cup comprises an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve. The latter is supported against an upper and a lower area of the inner sleeve. An annular space is located between the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve, which annular space is free of any additional elements. A joint bottom is arranged to the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve. In the upper area, the inner sleeve has a sudden widening, on top of which the outer sleeve is disposed.

  • Patent number: 4667844
Abstract: In the course of the preparation of a double-walled paper container, two jacket blanks are wound in circumferentially offset relationship with the end edges of each blank disposed in mutually facing relationship following the winding. The joints formed by the end edges are preferably covered by a foil in the form of a tube which is applied after the blanks have been wound.

  • Patent number: 4546911
Abstract: A wound double-walled container and method of manufacturing the same from coated paper includes two blanks which are placed one above the other and which form the container walls. The blanks are arranged mutually offset in such a manner that narrow foldable strips project laterally and foladble rim portions extend at the top and bottom, which are folded over for sealing the inwardly and outwardly and endwise disposed cut edges. The folding-over takes place either after the winding of the blanks or while the individual blanks are still flat, which thereafter are wound separately one after the other about a winding mandrel and are sealed.

  • Patent number: 4531930
Abstract: In wound, preferably cylindrical paper containers, reinforcing rings of a synthetic plastic material are applied to the upper and possibly to the lower cut edges and joined by welding with the jacket. In order to insure that the core of the ring remains cold during welding and only the surface becomes liquid, thin-walled projections are provided in locations of the ring where welding is desired and are rendered flowable immediately prior to the placing of the ring on the jacket. Thus, the ring retains its structural integrity while being rendered weldable.

  • Patent number: 4452596
Abstract: A paper cup of surface-protected paperboard and an apparatus for making the same, with the paper cup including a wound cup wall and a cup bottom inserted therein. Ends of a wall blank forming the cup wall are overlapped after a winding of the wall blank, and an inner cutting edge is covered by a protective strip welded together with the cup wall. The protective strip is fashioned as a sealing strip in flat contact with the inner surface of the cup wall and is welded to the cup wall on both sides of the overlapping point. The apparatus includes a winding station wherein the wall blank is wrapped onto a winding mandrel and is welded together at the overlapping zone in a subsequent welding station. With further devices being provided for inserting a cup bottom in the thus manufactured cup wall. A positioning device for the sealing strip is associated with the winding mandrel with the positioning device lying in front or preceding the winding station.
