  • Patent number: 8140705
Abstract: A method and system for recovering a server blade, in a multiple server blade computer, that is lost during a flash update operation on a service processor in the server blade. Because of the flash update failure, the lost server blade is unaware of its location on a management pathway, which in an exemplary form may be a midplane or a bus, which connects the server blade and a management module in a server blade chassis. The lost server blade puts a signal on the management pathway indicating that the flash failed. The signal is put on a special channel reserved for such messages. The management module receives the signal, and then determines which of the multiple server blades are lost due to the flash update failure.

  • Patent number: 7719290
Abstract: A circuit configuration for measuring air humidity includes a measuring system which includes an oscillator unit and a signal-processing unit, as well as a frequency-determining impedance, which is determined largely by a parallel connection of a capacitive humidity sensor and a parasitic resistance. The frequency-determining impedance is connected to the oscillator unit, which includes an oscillator having an oscillation frequency that is a function of the frequency-determining impedance. The oscillator unit includes a switchable impedance, which can be connected in addition to the frequency-determining impedance, the oscillator thereby being switchable from a first frequency range to a second frequency range.

  • Patent number: 7066022
Abstract: In an air-velocity sensor and a method for operating an air-velocity sensor, the air-velocity sensor includes a temperature sensor arranged in an air flow and sequential electronics. The sequential electronics are used to cyclically impinge upon the temperature sensor with a define heat output and to determine the temperature rise time required by the temperature sensor to heat up to a given temperature difference after being impinged upon with the heat output. Temperature measurements are performed at a defined measuring frequency. The velocity of the air flow is determined on the basis of temperature rise time.

  • Patent number: 7028531
Abstract: A sensor arrangement is suitable for detecting if a windscreen of a motor vehicle is fogging. The sensor arrangement includes a heat conducting layer disposed on a supporting surface, the layer exhibiting good heat conducting properties. A support plate is arranged on top of the heat conducting layer, including a recess and several electrical conductor tracks. A moisture-sensitive sensor element is arranged in the region of the recess of the support plate. The sensor element is electroconductively connected to the conductor tracks on the support plate. The temperature difference between the sensor element and the supporting plate may not exceed a given limit when measurement occurs.

  • Publication number: 20030140681
Abstract: Disclosed is a sensor arrangement which is especially suitable for detecting if the windscreen of a motor vehicle is steamed up. The sensor arrangement comprises a heat conducting layer disposed on a supporting surface. Said layer exhibits good heat conducting properties. A support plate is arranged on top of the heat conducting layer, comprising a recess and several electrical conductor tracks. A moisture-sensitive sensor element is arranged in the region of the recess of the support plate. Said sensor element is electroconductively connected to the conductor tracks on the support plate. The inventive arrangement ensures that the temperature difference between the sensor element and the supporting surface does not go beyond a given limit when measurement occurs.
