  • Publication number: 20110314169
Abstract: A method of facilitating access to services of an IP Multimedia Subsystem network by user terminals and services located behind an access point to said network. The access point is associated with a subscription to the IP Multimedia Subsystem network. The method comprises including within an Implicit Registration Set defined for said subscription, a wildcarded Public User Identity, Public Service Identity, Public User Identity sub-domain representative of a range of Public User Identities, or Public Service Identity sub-domain representative of a range of Public Service Identities. At IP Multimedia Subsystem registration of said access point with the IP Multimedia Subsystem network, the Public User Identities and Service Identities contained in the Implicit Registration Set are distributed to a Serving Call Session Control Function allocated to said access point and to a Proxy Call Session Control Function to which said access point is attached.

  • Publication number: 20110216763
Abstract: A method of installing a default dialing or numbering plan identity into a user terminal comprising an IMS client. The method comprises, at or following registration of a user of the user terminal to an IMS network, receiving at the terminal from the network a dialing or numbering plan identity and saving the identity as a default identity at the terminal, wherein the default dialing or numbering plan identity is subsequently used by the IMS client as a phone context.

  • Publication number: 20030099192
Abstract: According to the present invention, a method and system for communicating via a switched virtual circuit (SVC) is provided wherein transmission traffic is monitored between two ATM switches. When call traffic between the two switches increases above a predetermined level, at least one SVC can be established. At least one, and typically more than one, idle SVC is established and maintained by a media gateway controller utilizing a virtual termination in each switch that is connected to each end of the SVC. This allows end users to be connected to and disconnected from the SVC, without the need to establish or break down the SVC. The SVC remains connected between the switches as long as a predetermined threshold value of packet data transmissions is exceeded. The SVC is torn down when the level of transmissions goes below a predetermined level.

  • Publication number: 20010030962
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method to optimise a selection of a route (Z) in a communication system having branch points (A-F) of transmission links (L1-L9). The quality of each link is represented by a topology metric value (TM) and a topology attribute value (TA).
