  • Steering controllers for boats

    Abstract: An improved automatic steering controller for boats employs an adjustable feedback link between the output element and feedback elements of the system. A preferred form employs a lever arrangement in which the feedback ratio is varied by varying the lever arm to connections from the lever to one or the other, or both, of the output element and feedback element. The lever is related to the feedback element in a way that facilitates reversal of feedback element movement whereby to permit steering control from either side, port or starboard, of a tiller or wheel.
