  • Patent number: 6593877
Abstract: A method of determining the position of a transmitting beacon transmitting a signal to certain satellites in a constellation of satellites, which satellites in turn retransmit retransmitted signals to at least one detection ground station, wherein each of said ground stations is provided with at least one antenna whose directional characteristics do not make it possible to identify which satellite retransmitted any given retransmitted signal, and wherein the method implements the following steps: a) computing position for all combinations associating signals with satellites that might correspond to retransmission of transmitted signals; b) computing the position of the beacon for at least some of the satellite combinations, using the least squares method; and c) determining the combination which presents the smallest computation residue by the least squares method, the position of the transmitting beacon corresponding to this combination then being considered to be the position of the transmitting beacon.

  • Patent number: 5568087
Abstract: The invention concerns a pre-distorting linearization circuit, comprising a splitter circuit with an input forming the input of the linearization circuit and first and second outputs feeding first and second parallel stages respectively, of which at least one has a defined distortion characteristic, and a combining circuit receiving the signals provided by the first and second stages at first and second inputs respectively and having a recombination output. According to the invention, the first and second stages have first and second transistors respectively having different dimensions, which confer different non-linearity characteristics thereon, such that for the same voltage on the input of the linearization circuit, the first stage exhibits a higher degree of non-linearity than the second stage.

  • Patent number: 5373250
Abstract: A power supply unit for a MESFET power amplifier is adapted to supply to the amplifier the voltages necessary for it to operate including a MESFET DC drain voltage. The power supply unit comprises a temperature-sensitive component near the MESFET(s) of the power circuit(s) so as to sense their temperature. A device slaved to a parameter delivered by the temperature-sensitive component varies the DC drain voltage in the same direction as the temperature varies so as to compensate by operation on the DC drain voltage the temperature-dependent antagonistic variation of gain and output power of the amplifier even if operating in saturation mode.

  • Patent number: 3957633
Abstract: In larger sewage water systems, there is a risk that the water may become rotten due to lack of oxygen. According to the invention, this problem is solved by letting the pump in a pump station of the system act as an aerator as well as a transporter of the water. To aerate the water, the outlet of the pump is connected to a jet nozzle with an air intake. The aerated water is conveyed back to the pump station tank. The pump outlet may also be connected to the outlet pipe of the tank for discharging sewage water from the tank.
