  • Patent number: 5098020
Abstract: An adjustable oscillating wave-type irrigation sprinkler having an impact or impulse drive type mechanism for effecting side-to-side oscillation by a spray tube about a horizontal axis, the drive mechanism including a pair of drive spoons coupled to impact arms journaled for rotation relative to the spray tube and intercepting streams of water from the spray tube to produce incremental rotation of the spray tube about the horizontal axis.

  • Patent number: 4819875
Abstract: A contour control device for use with rotary irrigation sprinklers to water irregular areas about the sprinkler. The device includes a housing defining a chamber within which is disposed a throttling means comprising a flexible, resilient band and a plurality of adjustment pins which cooperate with a rotating inlet to the sprinkler to throttling the volume of water flow to the sprinkler in accordance with the rotary position of the sprinkler relative to the housing.

  • Patent number: 4475689
Abstract: A multiple dilution ratio hose-end sprayer having a rotatable selector dial having a plurality of orifices and associated cavities. The orifices are adapted to intersect a fluid passageway extending from a fluid container to a mixing chamber used for mixing selected amounts of fluid from the container with water entering the mixing chamber. Water is supplied to the mixing chamber through a first and second spaced apart nozzles, an annular channel extending from between said nozzles to an intersecting channel adapted to communicate with a cavity associated with an orifice intersecting said fluid passageway. The nozzle opening from said second nozzle being smaller than the discharge opening for the sprayer, but preferably equal to or smaller than opening from the first nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4457470
Abstract: An impulse sprinkler assembly is provided with a liquid stream-intersecting arm formable by open-and-shut injection molding techniques and having a pair of stream-diverting surfaces. Control over the direction of stream discharge is improved by providing a plurality of upraised ribs on the face of at least one of the stream diverting surfaces to minimize liquid thickness nonuniformities during flow thereacross.

  • Patent number: 4411460
Abstract: A hose coupling having a sleeve (12 or 16) connected to a male or female threaded member (10 or 14). A male clamp (20) is connected to a female clamp (22) by a screw (38) that is turned into an extended receiving chuck (28) on the male clamp (20) such that the end of the hose (18) is held in compression between the sleeve (12 or 16) and the male and female clamps (20 and 22). The receiving chuck (28) is located adjacent the arcuate end of a curved surface (26) of the male clamp (20) such that a ring of compression between hose (18 ) and sleeve (12 or 16) is formed completely around the circumference of the hose.

  • Patent number: 3963123
Abstract: A package is disclosed which comprises a hose nozzle, sprinkler head spike base, or the like, mounted on a shipping/display card. The hose nozzle, sprinkler head spike base, or the like has two holes formed in portions thereof for receiving fasteners. The holes may be formed in a plate which is part of the article, or they may be formed in web portions formed on the article specifically for mounting. The fastener includes a cylindrical portion for engagement with said holes and an enlarged head engaging the side of said card opposite the side on which said article is mounted, or alternatively a rivet member with two flexible cam-supporting legs, each insertable through one hole.
