The sheet discharge space is opened at at least one side in a width-wise direction of the main body housing and at a front side so the at least one opened side communicates with the front side. An expandable, flexible pack is implemented as a gazette bag and received in the case. A bottom plate is affixed to the bottom inner surface of the case while a shutter member is mounted on the underside of the bottom plate. The case, pack, bottom plate and shutter member are formed with respective openings for toner discharge in corresponding positions. The shutter member selectively blocks or unblocks the opening of the bottom plate.

Abstract: A powder container of the present invention is made up of a deformable bag for storing desired powder and a box more rigid than the bag for accommodating the bag. The bag includes an outlet portion for discharging the power. Despite that the bag is flexible, the powder container does not fall down when mounted to an image forming apparatus. Further, the powder container is easy to assemble and easy to transport at the time of collection. A method of assembling the toner container and an image forming apparatus using the same are also disclosed.

The direction of a paper on which the image read is to be formed on a paper is adjusted based on the guide information included in the image. Thus, an operator is not required to adjust the direction of the paper. The guide information may include information such as whether the image is to be formed on both sides of the paper.

Abstract: A powder container for an electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes a deformable bag and a powder discharging portion made up of a tapered portion and a toner outlet. A buckling reducing device reduces the buckling of part of the bag adjoining the tapered portion and toner outlet. The toner container prevents the discharge of powder from being deteriorated by buckling, thereby reducing the amount of powder to be left in the container. Further, a device is provided for maintaining the upright position of the bag. A toner discharging device for discharging the toner from the toner container is also disclosed.

Abstract: A printer of the present invention includes a first and a second tray each being movable between a full-closed position and an open position. When the operator moves the first tray in the opening direction, the first tray forces the second tray located on the locus of movement of the first tray in the opening direction, uncovering a first and a second opening at the same time. When the operator moves the second tray in the closing direction, the second tray forces the first tray located on the locus of movement of the first tray in the closing direction, covering the two openings at the same time. The operator can therefore move the two trays by a single action.

A seal valve is fitted in an outlet portion formed in the bag while a cap removably closes the outlet portion. When the bag is pressed in the collapsing direction, the powder is prevented from flying about via the seal valve. The powder container is easy to assemble.

Abstract: A color image forming apparatus includes a main body and a toner container setting part configured to set a plurality of toner containers individually therein. Each toner container contains a toner of a different color, and the setting part includes a receiving member configured to receive the plurality of toner containers inserted therein.
