  • Patent number: 5518536
Abstract: Alkaline earth metal heptane dionates which have uniform evaporation properties in a vacuum and are therefore highly suitable for use in CVD synthesis for depositing layers containing alkaline earth metal useful in fields such as the production of high temperature superconductors.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 15, 1995
Date of Patent: May 21, 1996
    Assignee: Solvay Barium Strontium GmbH
    Inventor: Guenther Doellein

  • Patent number: 5399781
Abstract: A method for producing Ph.sub.3 C[B(C.sub.6 F.sub.5).sub.4 ] in an improved yield by reacting LiB(C.sub.6 F.sub.5).sub.4, which has not been isolated between production and use, with Ph.sub.3 CCl preferably in a molar ratio of LiB(C.sub.6 F.sub.5).sub.4 to Ph.sub.3 CCl of 1:(1.+-.0.05), and preferably in the presence of a hydrocarbon solvent such as an aliphatic hydrocarbon containing from 5 to 8 carbon atoms, to give a Ph.sub.3 C[B(C.sub.6 F.sub.5).sub.4 ] product; optionally evaporating the hydrocarbon solvent; extracting the resulting Ph.sub.3 C[B(C.sub.6 F.sub.5).sub.4 ] product; separating insoluble LiCl, and isolating the product. The product may be isolated, for example, by freeing it of solvent, thereafter dissolving the product in toluene to form a toluene solution, introducing the toluene solution into a hydrocarbon solvent to form crystals of the product, and recovering the crystals. In the method, the LiB(C.sub.6 F.sub.5).sub.

  • Patent number: 5395642
Abstract: A process for depositing metal-containing layers which have a high specific electrical conductivity, involving the decomposition of organometallic compounds in a hydrogen-containing gas or vapor phase by means of a plasma. The energy density of the plasma is optimized, which involves recording an OES spectrum. It is thus possible to produce, e.g., strongly adhering conductor tracks whose width is less than 50 .mu.m and whose ratio of height to width is greater than 1. Also disclosed are a method for optimizing the deposition of metal-containing layers having a high specific conductivity, and a composite body produced by the process of the invention comprising a polymer substrate and a metal layer deposited thereon.
