Patent number: 9570257Abstract: A method performed in a control unit for opening a contactor device. The contactor device includes a carrier being movable between a closed position in which a current is allowed to flow in a current path and an open position in which the current path is broken. The control unit is configured to enable the movement of the carrier between the closed position and the open position by energizing a coil of an electromagnetic circuit. The method includes: initiating the opening of the contactor device by de-energizing the coil, wherein the de-energizing includes using a demagnetization circuit including a discharge element, the discharge element being arranged to consume energy in the coil; bypassing, at a first point of time, the discharge element; and re-energizing the coil.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2013Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: ABB Schweiz AGInventors: Björn Lundén, Gunnar Johansson, Peter Fransson

Publication number: 20160293363Abstract: A method in a control unit for closing a contactor device. The control unit is configured to enable the movement between the closed and opened position by energizing a coil of an electromagnetic circuit. The method includes applying a voltage over the coil; determining, during a first period of time, current through the coil and voltage over the coil and estimating based thereon model parameters for a model predicting the behavior of the current through the coil if the contactor device were to stay in an open position, and measuring, after the ending of the first period of time, current through the coil and determining a difference between, on the one hand the measured current and, on the other hand a predicted current of the model, and repeating the measuring and determining until a state change from open position to closed position is detected by the difference in current.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 12, 2013Publication date: October 6, 2016Inventors: Björn LUNDÉN, Gunnar JOHANSSON, Lars ANDERSSON

Patent number: 8985038Abstract: A feeder movement compensation algorithm for use within a processor controlled sewing machine. The sewing machine configured with a reciprocating needle and thread, and including a stitch plate upon which fabric to be sewn is positioned beneath the needle and thread. The machine also includes a feeder mechanism driving a feed dog thru a movement. The feed dog movement pushes the fabric along the stitch plate and the reciprocating needle and thread form stitches in the fabric. During the stitch cycle, the feed dog movement completes at least one feeder stroke. The feeder stroke includes a portion of the feed dog extending above the stitch plate and moving along the direction of feed. The feeder stroke thus pushes the fabric along the stitch plate. The compensation algorithm calculates a theoretical feeder stroke length based upon a desired stitch.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 2011Date of Patent: March 24, 2015Assignee: VSM Group ABInventors: Anders Flygare, Jonas Bardh, Gunnar Johansson
