  • Patent number: 6513976
Abstract: In a linear guide arrangement (10a) with an elongated guide rail (12a) and a guide carriage (14a) that can travel thereon in the lengthwise direction (L) of the guide rail (12a), a surface of the guide rail (12a) facing the guide carriage (14a) is covered by a cover band (24a). A band securing element (32a) is placed in the vicinity of each of the two longitudinal ends (30a) of the guide rail (12a). The two band securing elements (32a) jointly secure the cover band (24a) at least with respect to its displacement in lengthwise direction (L) of the guide rail (12a), wherein each of the band securing elements (32a) at least impedes movement of the cover band (24a) relative to the guide rail (12a) directed towards the other band securing element (32a). In accordance with a first inventive concept, the two band securing elements (32a) jointly secure the cover band (24a) at least with respect to its displacement in lengthwise direction (L) of the guide rail (12a), wherein each of the band securing elements (32a) at least impedes movement of the cover band (24a) relative to the guide rail (12a) directed towards the other band securing element (32a). In accordance with a second inventive concept, at least one of the band securing elements (32a) is non-positively engaged with the cover band (24a) as well as with the guide rail (12a).

  • Patent number: 5547285
Abstract: A guide carriage 12 is guided on a guide rail 10 by rollers 12a. The rollers 12a engage guideways 10c. For lubricating the guideways 10c there are mounted on the end faces of the guide carriage 12 plate-shaped housings 14. Constructed in these plate-shaped housings are guides 24 for lubricating element fittings 26. The lubricating element fittings accommodate track lubricating elements 34 of felt. The lubricating element fittings 26 are pressed against the guideways 10c by pre-tensioning springs 42. The track lubricating elements 34 are captively accommodated in the lubricating element fittings 26. The lubricating element fittings 26 are captively guided in the guides 24. The track lubricating elements 24 are in a lubricant conductive connection with lubricant supply chambers 40 within the plate-shaped housing 14.

  • Patent number: 5161896
Abstract: In a rolling bearing for linear movements, two rolling member circuits arranged between one arm of a U-shaped guide carriage and a lateral face of a guide rail, are substantially perpendicular to one another with their force transmission planes and are substantially parallel to one another with their circuit planes. All rollers have parallel axes in each of the two roller circuits. The load-transmitting row of rollers and the return row of rollers are offset from one another in the axial direction of the rollers in both roller circuits.

  • Patent number: 5152614
Abstract: A linear ball bush comprises a cage having a cage axis and a plurality of ball circuits, at least one ball circuit comprising two straight ball rows substantially parallel to the cage axis and two curved ball rows connecting the two straight ball rows, and a plurality of runner plates which each provide for the guidance of the ball circuit. The runner plates comprise straight track sections continued with substantially constant profile over their entire length, and between these a middle rib which is continued to each of the runner plate ends with substantially constant profile. The curved track sections connect the straight track sections and pass transversely through the middle rib.

  • Patent number: 4778041
Abstract: A rolling support device or ball roller comprises a main ball housed in a casing comprising a substantially hemispherical bearing bush, an outer shell and a retaining ring assembly connected to the outer shell to retain the main ball and the bearing bush therein with a portion of the ball exposed through the ring to contact a member to be supported thereby; the outer shell is shaped to be received in an opening in a supporting member and the retaining ring defines a shoulder determining the limit of insertion; resilient tongues projecting from the casing act to retain the device in such an opening, for which purpose the tongues have an elbow portion each provided with at least one radially outwardly projecting tooth for biting into the side wall of an opening receiving the device to resist withdrawal thereof.

  • Patent number: 4743124
Abstract: An anti-friction bearing is provided in which two cage halves have end plates inserted in the bearing main body. The end plates have bearing member deflection surfaces. Retaining webs originating from the end plates abut one another in a plane normal to the axis. The bearing members (e.g. balls or rollers) are deflected on deflection surfaces inside the end plates. The retaining webs are designed in such a way that, in each case, two retaining webs in alignment with one another and originating from end plates located opposite one another are sufficient to hold the load-transmitting bearing member rows of two bearing member circuits in engagement with the respective bearing member tracks of the bearing main body.

  • Patent number: 4564993
Abstract: In a screw drive, in particular a ball screw drive, a double nut, formed of a pair of individual nuts, is tightened on a threaded spindle and the individual nuts are secured together against relative rotation by a locking member. The locking member is secured within a radially extending recess formed in and bridging the individual nuts. The locking member can be inserted with a certain amount of play into the recess or borehole and then secured within the recess by a cement or similar material so that it cannot be displaced. Various types of locking members can be used, such as locking bolts or threaded bolts. When the locking member is connected into the recess or ball it prevents any rotation of the individual nuts relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 4474073
Abstract: A spindle drive assembly includes a spindle and a spindle nut defining a helical ball duct therebetween through which a plurality of recirculating balls may pass during relative rotation between the spindle and the spindle nut to effect transmission of axial forces therebetween. A helical internal ball guide formed on the spindle nut and defining one side of the helical ball duct is formed with at least one compensating slot which extends to the walls of the helical internal guide in order to effect circumferential division of the spindle nut to enable the spindle nut to radially adapt to compression forces applied by the clamping device extending about the spindle nut to provide radial compression maintaining the balls in operative load-bearing engagement within the helical duct. The slot is formed with a width taken circumferentially of the spindle nut which is not greater than 15% of the diameter of the recirculating balls, and preferably not greater than 10% of the ball diameter.
