  • Patent number: 4492105
Abstract: A tightening device for the gripping jaws of a plate stretcher comprises one push rod for each pair of gripping jaws sliding in guides in the gripping head in the stretching plane, and having hinged thereto two link rods which are also hinged to the gripping jaws, the gripping jaw moving synchronously rearwards for the closing operation and forwards for the opening operation, in two guides disposed in V-formation to each other. The link rods are coupled to the gripping jaws in a disengageable manner to avoid damage to the link rods and tightening device if tearing of the plate takes place during the stretching operation, or on account of any difference in the gripping of the plate by the upper and lower gripping jaw causing generation of very large but different forces on the two link rods. The link rods are in the form of angle levers each having a long and short arm pivotally connected to the hydraulically mobile push rod.

  • Patent number: 4475372
Abstract: An indirect extrusion press has a die and die holder 20 and a sealing plate to close the billet carrier. After extrusion, a one-piece or two-part holding sleeve is placed between the sealing plate and the sealing stem and the latter is advanced to push the billet carrier over the die stem thereby expelling the sealing plate, the butt end of the billet, and the die holder into the sleeve. A shearing device then shears off the sealing plate and butt end, the second part of the holding sleeve moving aside with the sealing plate and butt end in it. The die holder is clamped in the holding sleeve which is pulled away from the billet carrier to separate the die from the extruded product. In the case of a one-piece holding sleeve, a transverse aperture is provided to allow the shearing operation.

  • Patent number: 4334421
Abstract: The discharge roll table comprises a plurality of rollers for receiving extruded bar or tube. A top cover extending along the table above the rollers is of substantially inverted V-shape cross section and is divided along the top edge into two half covers pivotable to the left and right of the table respectively. Each half cover is divided into cover sections aligned end to end and is connected at an angle to lifting devices arranged between the rollers. Thus the extruded product may be lifted to the left or right of the table, which may be substantially the same length as the extruded product.
