  • Patent number: 4526773
Abstract: In a continuous process for the removal of H.sub.2 S from a gaseous mixture involving: (a) simultaneous absorption and oxidation of H.sub.2 S to form elemental sulfur; (b) regeneration of the oxidizing agent, e.g., vanadate, by treating the used scrubbing liquid with air; and (c) recycling the regenerated scrubbing liquid to the scrubbing step, to avoid the formation of sulfates and thiosulfates, the dissolved oxygen is substantially prevented from appearing in the scrubbing solution before reuse.

  • Patent number: 4355011
Abstract: In the scrubbing of gases containing sulfur compounds with an aqueous alkaline solution of salts of anthraquinonedisulfonic acid, alkali sulfates are formed during a salt regeneration step, and these sulfates must be kept under a certain upper limit. This is accomplished by subjecting a partial stream of scrubbing solution to combustion under reducing conditions; however, thiosulfate is also removed, resulting ultimately in the decomposition of the anthraquinonedisulfonates. To overcome this drawback, the liquid product withdrawn from the combustion step is contacted with an oxygen-containing gas to convert alkali sulfides and/or alkali hydrogen sulfides contained therein to alkali thiosulfate, preferably in the presence of a catalytic amount of said salts of anthraquinonedisulfonic acid.

  • Patent number: 4289342
Abstract: A motor vehicle door lock comprises a ratchet locking mechanism, behind the preferably bolt-shaped catch of which there can engage the flanks of two locking teeth which are arranged one behind the other and which are arranged on a pivotable locking lever which is pressed into the locking position by spring pressure and which, upon a movement of the catch relative to the lever during the locking of the door, can be pivoted by the catch against the spring pressure. For the opening of the lock there engages in the locking lever (9) or is secured thereto, a driving member (28), by means of which the locking lever can be removed from the catch (2) to such an extent that the respective abutting tooth edge becomes disengaged.

  • Patent number: 4260590
Abstract: In the Stretford process wherein hydrogen sulfide, obtained for example, in the catalytic conversion of sulfur compounds, is absorbed into an alkaline solution of the sodium salt of anthraquinone disulfonic acid (ADA) and sodium vanadate and eventually converted to elemental sulfur by a reaction of the sodium vanadate with the hydrogen sulfide, some of the hydrogen sulfide undergoes side reactions and is converted to undesirable by-products, e.g., sodium sulfate and sodium thiosulfate. These by-products were removed in the prior art by burning; however, the expensive salts of ADA were also burned in the process of the prior art. In the present improvement, the sodium salts of ADA are preferentially removed in an adsorption column filled with a macroporous adsorption resin, prior to the combustion stage. The adsorption column can be regenerated either with water or with an aqueous solution of sodium carbonate formed in the combustion stage.

  • Patent number: 4143528
Abstract: The device serves to lock the locking bolt of a cylinder lock in its locking position when an unauthorized removal of the locking cylinder is effected. A lever mounted with the housing of the cylinder lock rests against a portion of the locking cylinder which effects swivelling of the lever upon the removal of the locking cylinder. The locking bolt is lockable by a locking piece which is spring-loaded in the direction of the locking position and is held in the unlocking position by the lever in the non-swivelled state thereof. The locking piece is released when the lever has been swivelled by the locking cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4132151
Abstract: For milling a control groove in a vehicle safety key there is used a motor-driven milling head connected by a linkage such as a pantograph to a tracer member. The tracer member follows a template groove. Since it is desired to vary the shape of the groove the template groove of the present invention is formed in sections on a plurality of strips some or all of the strips carrying several groove sections, said strips being shiftable in relation to each other so as to join up selected sections of the strips to form a single groove.

  • Patent number: 4052869
Abstract: A cylinder lock, particularly useful as a vehicle steering lock, of which the barrel is axially slidable between an outer, locked position and an inner position in which the barrel can be rotated by an appropriately coded key. Insertion of a key into the key passage of the barrel when the barrel is in the outer position is prevented by closure elements which are displaced by the leading end of the key, axial movement of the barrel from the outer to the inner position occurring during such displacement.

  • Patent number: 3958325
Abstract: Annular metallic blanks which consist of packages of interconnected laminae or of sheet metal strips which are coiled edgewise and whose strata are riveted or otherwise secured to each other are converted into stators for electrical machines by cold forming between upper and lower dies and outer and inner calibrating members so that the inner diameter of each blank is increased during cold forming, that the peripheral surface of the stator has two cylindrical portions flanking a convex median portion, and that the outermost portions of the end surfaces of the stator are formed with annular recesses. Prior to cold forming, each blank is subjected to a preliminary shaping treatment including chamfering the axial ends of its internal and peripheral surfaces.

  • Patent number: 3956533
Abstract: Liquid sealant is applied to threaded parts that are to be connected by screwing or fitting together in a gas- or liquid-tight manner in a uniformly thick coating and the coating allowed to harden, so that the parts may be stored indefinitely before use. The coating is applied by an application tool which has a similar threaded shape to the part to which the coating is to be applied and which is provided with outflow openings in its surface.
