Abstract: Macromonomeric (meth-)acrylate esters, having fluoroalkyl groups are disclosed. The esters have the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is the same or different and represents a hydrogen or fluorine groupR.sup.2 is the same or different and represents a hydrogen or methyl group,a has a value of 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4,c has a value of 2, 3 or 4,b has an average value of 2 to 30n has an average value of 4 to 12 andm has an average value of 3 to 14.The products can be used in dentistry, preferably as relining material for dental prostheses. The esters have a lower solubility and a higher mechanical strength when cured and adhere to already cured poly(methyl methacrylate).

Abstract: An improved method for the after-treatment of washed and dried fibre cable having a minimum mass of 250 ktex by crimping, fixing, cooling and optionally cutting or tearing is achieved in that the band width of the cable issuing from the drier with a covering density of at most 5 ktex/cm is reduced by at least 50% of the original band width with a corresponding increase in the packing density, is crimped in a stuffer box crimping means at a stuffer box pressure of from 4 to 10 N/cm and a stuffer box temperature of from 80.degree. to 95.degree. C., the crimping is fixed in or immediately after the stuffer box, the cable is deposited on the surface of an air-permeable conveyor belt, air is blown or sucked there through fibre package or conveyor belt and the cable is then optionally supplied to a tearing converter or a cutting machine.

Abstract: A vessel particularly suitable for shipping liquid metals such as pig iron is provided with a cover which has a cross-sectional configuration in the shape of a compound curve, with an annular extension wall of the cover extending in overlapping relationship about the body of the vessel. The cover comprises a circumferentially extending inwardly protruding packing strip which is arranged to bear against the upper edge of the vessel with a packing member being interposed between the vessel edge and the packing strip. Connecting means extending between the vessel body and the cover include means for receiving fastening wedges which hold the cover on the vessel, with the fastening wedges extending tangentially of the vessel body.
