Patent number: 6409955Abstract: The present invention relates to a sprue bar assembly for use with a number of different injection molding machines. The sprue bar assembly comprises a fixed sprue bar section having a first channel through which molten material, such as a plastic resin, flows. The first channel communicates with the outlet of a source of the molten material. The sprue bar assembly further comprises an adjustable sprue bar section having a second channel through which molten material flows and a powered unit for holding the adjustable sprue bar section in contact with the fixed sprue bar section so that molten material can flow from the first channel to the second channel without leaking and for changing the length of the sprue bar assembly as needed to accommodate molds of different shutheights.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1999Date of Patent: June 25, 2002Assignee: Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd.Inventors: Stefan Gunther Schmitt, Heinz Walter Reulecke

Patent number: 5475909Abstract: A yarn entangling device having a housing with an air pressure cushion in it for urging a piston normally outwardly of the housing. The piston has an air passage through it. Shifting the piston outwardly blocks the air passage. A blast nozzle is secured to the piston for being supplied with air through the piston. A baffle plate opposed to the blast nozzle defines a yarn channel. A holder supports the baffle plate for movement away from and into contact with the blast nozzle. With the holder moving the baffle plate toward the blast nozzle, the piston is shifted to open the air passage to the piston, and with the yarn channel opened with the baffle plate away from the blast nozzle, the piston is moved out of the housing by the air pressure cushion cutting off the air flow to the blast nozzle. A closing flap acts through a detent to secure the holder and baffle plate to close the yarn channel.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 1994Date of Patent: December 19, 1995Assignee: Temco GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Karl-Heinz Heil, Klaus Rippstein, Hans-Dieter Scherpf, Klaus Schmidt, Gunther Schmitt

Patent number: 5154365Abstract: A bobbin holder for a textile spindle. A spindle having an upper part with opposite double flat surfaces and with a bottom surface. An upper adapter for placement around the upper part of the spindle, the adapter having a recess in it adapted to the shape of the upper part of the spindle, such that at one rotation orientation, the upper part of the spindle core is aligned with and is in the adapter recess and at other rotation orientations, the upper part of the spindle is out of the adapter recess. There is an upper adapter with a conically tapered bobbin receiver and an opposed lower adapter also with a conically tapered bobbin receiver which are both conically tapered to be received in the opening in the bobbin. A spring in one of the top and the bottom adapters biases the respective conical receiver toward the other conical receiver for securing the bobbin between the two conical receivers.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 1991Date of Patent: October 13, 1992Assignee: FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer KGaAInventor: Gunther Schmitt

Patent number: 4756150Abstract: A mount for spinning spindles which discloses various embodiments of wedge type clamping devices for clamping a sleeve, which is disposed around the spindle housing, securely to a spindle bearing plate. The sleeve surrounds the spindle housing with vibration damping elements between them. The wedge clamping devices are driven by a threaded nut which is tightened up around the sleeve and this clamps the sleeve to the plate. A device for separating the drive belt from the drive whorl of the spindle is attachable on the sleeve and presses the belt off the drive whorl, freeing the spindle so that it may then be unclamped for removal from the spindle bearing plate.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1987Date of Patent: July 12, 1988Assignee: FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer (KGaA)Inventors: Gunther Schmitt, Gunter Oppl, Armin Bohn

Patent number: 4522021Abstract: A series of spindles is supported on a rail. A spindle brake is provided acting on a selected one of a pair of spindles which are driven to rotate by a belt. The spindle brake is supported on a holder. The holder is pivoted to the rail. A pair of levers pivotally attached to the holder are respectively pulled for pivoting the holder in one and the opposite directions. A brake element is supported to the holder. The brake element includes a brake surface. Pivoting of the holder pivots the brake element to bring the brake surface into braking engagement with the respective spindle. A belt lift-off roller is pivotally supported to the holder on an axis spaced from the holder axis and is so shaped and placed that pivoting of the holder to brake a particular spindle moves the belt lift-off roller to lift the belt off that particular spindle.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 1984Date of Patent: June 11, 1985Assignee: FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer, Kommanditgesellschaft auf AktienInventor: Gunther Schmitt

Patent number: 4485617Abstract: A false-twist apparatus has three parallel shafts carrying interleaved sets of friction disks interconnected by drive belts for joint rotation; one of these shafts is journaled in a stationary mounting plate while the others are journaled in a carrier pivotally connected with that plate for swinging about a fulcrum offset from the three shaft axes whereby two of the disk sets can be separated to facilitate the introduction of a yarn into the intervening twisting region. A whorl on the carrier-supported shaft nearest the fulcrum is normally driven by frictional contact with a continuously moving tangential belt but is disengaged from that belt in the swung-out position of the carrier so that the disks are arrested during introduction of the yarn.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 1982Date of Patent: December 4, 1984Assignee: Fag Kugelfischer Georg Schafer & Co.Inventors: Gunther Schmitt, Gunther Oppl, Kirit Patel, Theo Bieber

Patent number: 4445320Abstract: A spindle brake for a spinning or twisting machine has a pair of arms whose jaws are engageable with the whorl of a spinning or twisting spindle. One of these arms carries a belt-lifting roller adapted to lift the belt away from the whorl when the brake is actuated thereby preventing friction between the belt and the immobilized whorl.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1982Date of Patent: May 1, 1984Assignee: FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer & Co.Inventors: Gunter Oppl, Gunther Schmitt

Patent number: 4226080Abstract: A false-twist apparatus has a support defining three generally parallel and radially spaced axes surrounding a central axially extending twisting region. Respective shafts are journaled in this support for rotation about the axes and carry respective staggered sets of axially spaced disks whose rims radially overlap at the twisting region. Yarn eyes above and below the sets of disks are axially aligned with this twisting region so that a yarn to be false-twisted can pass axially through the lower eye, then zigzag along the regions in contact with the disks, and then pass axially out through the other eye. All of the disks are permanently joined and synchronously rotated. A holder displaceable in a straight line on the apparatus support carries a plurality of arms having yarn-pushing tips that can push a yarn to be false-twisted radially into the region.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1979Date of Patent: October 7, 1980Assignee: Kugelfischer Georg Schafer & Co.Inventors: Theo Bieber, Friedrich Schuster, Gunther Paul, Gunther Schmitt, Wolfgang Schmucker
