A centralized Sidelink AS group management is disclosed that the Sidelink AS Group Manager discovers group members and organizes them into AS layer sub-groups for a UE. A Subgroup formation and configuration procedure is disclosed that SL AS Group Manager organizes the ULG into AS layer sub-groups, configures UE-to-UE relays for each UE in the ULG and sends the AS group management information to the UE. A distributed Sidelink AS group management method is disclosed that each UE discovers its group members and organizes the ULG into AS layer sub-groups. New Layer 2 structures and procedures are disclosed to enhance bearer management for Sidelink groupcast communications.

    Abstract: A wireless device, such as user equipment (UE) or other apparatus, like may use a transparent mode operation in which the device is not aware of the operation mode of abase station, such as a gNB or other transmission and receive point (TRP), via the use of configurations for Frame Based Equipment (FBE) and Load Based Equipment (LBE) operating modes. A base station may initiate a Channel Occupancy Time (COT) that is an FBE COT or an LBE COT, in which the wireless device follows FBE or LBE procedures accordingly. A variety of criteria may be applied in determining whether to use FBE or LBE procedures, and to switch between them. A network may use indicate the intention to switch operation mode and may do so via implicit or explicit indications. Similarly, a wireless device may autonomously switch operation mode, and may indicate the selected mode to the network.

    Abstract: Logical Channel Prioritization (LCP) may be enhanced by accounting for Quality of Service (QoS) attributes of single hop and multi-hop paths. QoS attributes may be communicated as a QoS budget comprising a number of attributes, or as a single composite QoS “resistance” factor that quantifies the compounded impact of number of hops, latency, load conditions, and the like. The QoS budget or resistance may dynamically adjusted, and may be used by LCP to provide differentiated uplink resource allocation to data of the bearer or logical channel subject to different transmission paths between the transmitter and the receiver, for example. QoS budget and resistance information may be used to, e.g., enhance Buffer Status Report (BSR) and Scheduling Request (SR) operations.

    Abstract: Self-powered active sensing systems (SASS) for use in downhole drilling environments are disclosed. Sensor devices of the SASS can include a self-powered rotational speed sensor including a ring structure attached around a drill string. The ring rotates within a groove formed in an outer housing. Bearings on the ring are arranged to contact moveable members extending from the housing into the groove thereby causing the moveable member to generate an electrical signal representing rotational speed. The SASS can include a vibration sensor having a ring spring mounted within a housing. Spherical bearings on the outer surface of the ring are configured to contact screens that are mounted to the housing and that generate a signal representing movement of the bearing/ring from vibration. Multiple SASS units configured to wirelessly transmit sensor data can be placed along a drill string providing a distributed self-powered system for measuring downhole parameters.
