Abstract: A portable terminal includes a main housing, a sliding housing coupled to the main housing in such a manner that it can slide to expose or hide a part of a surface of the main housing, a keypad module positioned on the main housing and adapted to be exposed or hidden as the sliding housing moves, and a driving means positioned on the main housing to cause the keypad module, when exposed by the movement of the sliding housing, to protrude from a surface of the main housing. The sliding movement of the sliding housing is converted into up-and-down movement of the keypad module to overcome the difference in level among the upper surface of the sliding housing, the display device, and the keypad for convenient key input.

Abstract: A portable terminal having a swing hinge apparatus includes a hinge base, a hinge housing coupled onto the hinge base and rotatable about a first hinge axis, a bracket assembly coupled to the hinge housing and rotatable about a second hinge axis which extends perpendicularly to the first hinge axis, and a locker disposed on the hinge base to restrict rotation of the hinge housing in a first position. The swing hinge apparatus also includes a pair of rotatably coupled opposing housings.

Abstract: The present invention provides a portable wireless terminal which includes a main body and a folder which is rotatably connected to the main body, and a method for using the same. The portable wireless terminal further comprises a housing of the main body which is coated with an electrically conductive material on the inner surface in order to provide a ground for an electric circuit device mounted in the main body, a housing of the folder which is coated with an electrically conductive material on the inner surface in order to provide a ground for an electric circuit device mounted in the folder, and a hinge module which is received within the folder and rotatably connects the folder to the main body. The hinge module also electrically interconnecting the ground of the main body and the ground of the folder.

Abstract: A flip cover of a portable telephone apparatus, in which a flip cover includes a two stage extension so as to prevent transmitted voice from being dispersed and to prevent any noise from occurring when transmitting and receiving speech (voice). The flip cover includes an upper flip, a lower flip fixed to an inner side of the upper flip, and an inner flip slidably mounted to the upper and lower flip. A guide rib formed in the upper flip and a slide groove formed in the lower flip facilitate the sliding motion. A fixing projection provided on an upper side of the lower flip and upper and lower fixing grooves on the inner flip are adapted to be fixably fitted into the fixing projection. A guide projection formed at both sides of the front end of the inner flip is adapted to be fitted into the slide groove of the lower flip and guided therein.
