This is advantageous in that it can improve the performance of the drying which is carried out after the rinsing routine. Further, if it is decided that the level of dirtiness of the tableware is high, then the time over which the heater operates during the washing routine is increased and the time over which the heater operates during the rinsing routine is reduced. This is advantageous in that the washing performance can be improved while the overall heater operating time can be maintained.

Basic usages of the washing machine, and various methods for displaying operation- and control-states of the washing machine will be indicated by at least one dynamic character, such that a user of the washing machine can easily recognize necessary information of the washing machine, resulting in not only increased information transmission characteristics of the washing machine but also emphasized entertainment elements required by modern consumers of the washing machine.

Abstract: An Internet washing machine is disclosed. The washing machine comprises a communication modem connected to a communication network for transmitting/receiving data over the communication network, a display unit for displaying whether the washing machine is communicable, and a control unit for determining a network connection state and communication state of the communication modem and displaying through the display unit whether the washing machine is communicable, in accordance with results of the determination. Whether the Internet washing machine is communicable is displayed through the display unit so that the user can more easily recognize the network communication state of the washing machine. This increases the user's convenience.

In a method for detecting washing weight of washing machine, if the washings weight is not larger than low level, water is supplied up to lower level and the washings weight is detected, thereby the water level is determined. And if the washings weight is not smaller than medium low level, the water is supplied up to low level and the washing weight is detected, thereby the water level is determined.
