  • Patent number: 4681263
Abstract: A low profile sprinkler head has a circular cup-like base with a threaded male coupling for attaching to a buried water supply pipe and an axial bore therethrough. The base includes a plurality of openings to permit sand and debris to fall therethrough. A removable nozzle head is provided for insertion into the bore. The nozzle head includes fluted water passages and various configurations may be provided to produce different water spray patterns. Nozzles are designed to produce a friction fit in the bore. The upper portion of the nozzle head has a curved underside which is disposed within the base to deflect the spray in a horizontal plane. The assembly is installed below the grass mowing level to permit mowing without damage to the sprinkler head.

  • Patent number: 4625915
Abstract: A sprinkler head apparatus has a sprinkler head body portion having a threaded base for attaching to a water line and a nozzle for directing water from the water line through the sprinkler head body portion. A plurality of fixed deflector elements are removably attached by a simple press fit to the sprinkler head body. Each deflector member is shaped to produce a predetermined deflected water pattern from the water exiting the nozzle. Each of the fixed deflector members has a deflector portion and an attaching portion for attaching the deflector members into the opening in the sprinkler head body. The fixed deflector members attaching portion includes a wedging portion thereon for locking the deflector member to the sprinkler head body with the force of water from the nozzle impinging against the deflector portion. This wedging action not only holds the deflector member into the sprinkler head body but holds it against loosening from the action of the water from the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4485013
Abstract: A liquid purification and separator system is adapted to be floated upon a body of water and to be moved from location to location and has a liquid collection section for collecting water connected by a water line to a floating purification unit. The floating purification unit includes at least one aeration tower having a dispersing nozzle for spraying the collected liquids in a fine spray onto the tower. The liquids collect on the towers and trickle down to moving filter belts which allows the water to pass through and back into the body of water. This process enables the system to collect solid particles such as hydrocarbons, oil, coal, mined minerals and particles from sewer plants and industrial plants. The rotating belts are cleaned at one end to remove the collected pollutants into a collection container. The system also acts to cool the water as it passes through the aerator.

  • Patent number: 4226815
Abstract: A liquid cooling apparatus having a multi-level terraced structure capped by a central cooling tower. The central cooling tower has one or more non-clogging liquid spray nozzles mounted therein for spraying the liquid in the tower while compressed air is fed into the bottom of the tower into the sprayed liquid. The liquid collects on the terraced structure which has a plurality of channels formed therein having baffles mounted to break up the flow of water as it passes over each level of the terraced structure. Flow paths on the terraced structure may also have rocks placed along the channels between the baffling members.
