Abstract: A system for monitoring characteristics of a subject including a sensor unit including an upper plate, a lower plate, a transducer sensor and an abutting element, which is configured for abutting a surface of the transducer surface, correspondently to forces applied upon the upper plate by the subject and a control unit, for identifying breathing related alarm situations using the sensor unit signals. The system optionally also includes remote devices allowing multidirectional communication between the control unit and each respective remote device and between the remote devices and optionally also enable turning one of these remote devices into a relay station for expanding communication range. The system optionally also includes a mechanical adjustment mechanism connected to the abutting element, for enabling a user to adjust sensitivity of the transducer sensor by mechanically adjusting location of the abutting element in relation to an effective area of the transducer sensor.

Abstract: A mobile monitoring device (MMD) for monitoring physical characteristics of a subject, including a casing; an attaching mechanism for releasably attaching the MMD to a garment worn by the subject; a control unit enabling to control and execute operations of the MMD and identify breathing related alarming situations; a sensor element enabling to sense breathing related characteristics of the subject by converting physical vibrations into electric signals; an alarm output device for enabling to operate at least one alarm in case alarm breathing related situation is identified; and an arm extending from the casing. The arm allows abutting the body of the subject at a first proximal end thereof and the sensor element at a second distal end thereof when the device is worn by the subject, thereby allows mechanically transmitting physical movements thereof caused by movements of the subject body to the sensor element thereby mechanically leveraging the movement.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the manufacture of a baby feeding bottle being provided with a one-way valve. The one-way valve carries at its end a tail. The bottle has an opening at the top through which said valve is inserted by any suitable inserting means. Said valve is inserted up to the end through a small round opening having a suitable size corresponding to the groove of the valve being located at the bottom of said bottle. Through the round opening the valve is pulled by any suitable pulling means inside the bottle until the bottom of the bottle is closed hermetically by the valve. Finally the tail of the valve is cut off by any cutting means.

Abstract: A movement detector particularly useful as an apnea monitor includes a piezoelectric crystal transducer, a supporting member on one side of the transducer, and a collector member on the opposite side of the transducer and having an effective area, as circumscribed by its outer edges, which is at least fifty times the surface area of the respective side of the transducer, for collecting the forces applied at that side of the transducer and for applying them to the transducer.
