  • Patent number: 5359458
Abstract: A scanner comprising a light source, having non-uniformities, for transmitting light through an input sample, and a cassette for holding the input sample, wherein a distance from the light source to the cassette is long enough to cause the effects of the non-uniformities to be substantially reduced.

  • Patent number: 5339176
Abstract: There is disclosed technique and apparatus for calibrating a color processing device. The technique includes the steps of comparing a first digital representation of a colored image with a second digital representation thereof and employing at least the transformation to control operation of the color processing device to be calibrated. The first digital representation defines a plurality of first non-scalar color values and the second digital representation defines a plurality of second non-scalar color values corresponding to the plurality of the first non-scalar color values, thereby to provide a transformation pairing each individual one of the first non-scalar color values with a value relatively close to the corresponding one of the second non-scalar color values. The color processing device may be calibrated generally without reference to human aesthetic judgement.

  • Patent number: 5247352
Abstract: An apparatus for sharpening a color image having a multiplicity of color separation signals defining a plurality of color pixels comprising apparatus for generating at least two sharpening signals from the color separation signals and apparatus for combining each of the color separation signals with any collection of the at least two sharpening signals wherein the collection changes throughout the color image.

Inventors: Michael Nagler, Haim Z. Melman
  • Patent number: 5124547
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for reducing lag in photosensors in a color separation assembly having an optical imaging path. The apparatus comprises a plurality of colored LEDs located outside of said optical path and arranged for illumination of the photosensors. The color and location of the colored LEDs are preferably selected to match the transmission and reflection characteristics of the color separation assembly.
