Abstract: An electronic device and display method includes sensing plates mounted on the electronic device and configured to generate signals when the electronic device is handheld. Programs cause at least one processor to analyzes the signals and thus the manner in which the electronic device is handheld. The method displays an interface according to the manner in which the device is handheld.

Abstract: A method for transmitting data via multi-channel communications is provided. The method comprises following steps: providing transmission modes to be selected and determining transmission channels and transmission modules corresponding to the selected transmission modes; splitting a piece of data to be transmitted to a number of data segments, the number of the data segments being same to a number of the determined transmission channels; labeling a sequence number to each data segment; distributing the labeled data segments to determined transmission modules correspondingly; and transmitting the labeled data segments via the corresponding determined transmission channels. A system and a transmission device for transmitting data via multi-channel communications are also disclosed.

Abstract: A control system and method for controlling user interfaces on an electronic device are provided. The control system includes a processor configured to execute instructions stored in a storage unit to: determine whether a rotation angle of the electronic device is in an angle range; create a rotated user interface group; create a first planar coordinate system on a rotated user interface of the rotated user interface group; define a first region which the rotated user interface is rotated an angle of the rotation angle of the electronic device; create a second planar coordinate system on the rotated user interface group; define a second region which has a same region as that of the first region; and display the contents on the second region.

Abstract: A recognition system and method for recognizing handwriting on an electronic device are provided. The recognition system includes a processor configured to execute instructions stored in a memory for: creating handwriting in response to a handwriting input; displaying the created handwriting on a user interface of the electronic device; defining a first planar coordinate system on the user interface; determining the electronic device is rotated if a rotation angle is larger than a predetermined value; defining a second planar coordinate system on the user interface; identifying a coordinate of each touched point of the handwriting in the second planar coordinate system; recognizing the handwriting according to the coordinate and retrieving one or more first characters or words matching the handwriting; and displaying the retrieved one or more first characters or words on the user interface.

Abstract: A method for playing audio out of a video file includes the following steps. Open a video file stored in a storage unit. Decode the opened video file. Separate the video file into video data and audio data wherein the audio data comprises a plurality of pieces of music data. A starting position and an ending position of each piece of music data is established and recorded by reference to the spectral characteristics. All indexed passages of music data are then playable according to the recorded starting and ending positions. An electronic device using the same is also provided.

Abstract: A method for zooming in content displayed on a touch screen comprises detecting the touch track of a touch on the touch screen and determining whether the touch track encloses a graphic. A current display mode of the touch screen when the touch track does enclose a graphic is identified and the content within the bounds of the enclosed graphic according to the current display mode of the touch screen is magnified. An electronic device using the above method is also provided.

Abstract: A method for transition between sequential pages displayed by an electronic device which runs a slideshow presentation application program such as Microsoft® PowerPoint. The method includes the steps as follows. Generate input signals from a user tracing a simple shape with his fingertip on the screen. Identify the traced shape. The type of transition display property which is associated with the predefined shape is acquired when the traced and identified shape is substantially similar to a predefined shape stored in the storage unit. The transition to next displayed page is displayed with the acquired type of display transition property. A related electronic device is also provided.

The processing unit includes a file retrieving module, a refreshing mode control module, a block setting module, and a display control module. The file retrieving module retrieves one or more shapes or figures, to be displayed for effect, and the content of a new target page when a content updating signal is received. The refreshing mode control module controls the electronic reader to operate in a refreshing mode. The block setting module determines the blocks to be refreshed and the order in which the blocks are to be refreshed. The display control module controls the display unit to firstly update the content of a block with the one or more shapes or figures, and then update with retrieved new content by refreshing the blocks one after another in a predetermined procedural order.
