    Abstract: This application discloses a handover method and apparatus. During handover, a source RAN node includes, in a handover message, an indication indicating whether a PDU session supports network slice re-mapping and/or an indication indicating whether the PDU session supports network slice fallback. A target RAN node performs admission control based on the indication, and notifies the source RAN node of an identifier of a network slice to which the PDU session is re-mapped or an indication indicating whether the PDU session falls back to a default network slice. The source RAN node forwards the notification to a terminal device. This reduces signaling overheads caused during handover interaction.

    Abstract: Embodiments of this disclosure provide a communication method, and an associated communication apparatus, medium, and chip. In a communication method, a target access network device receives first information, where the first information indicates a relationship between a first network slice in a first network and a second network slice in a second network, and the first network is different from the second network. The target access network device performs access control from a terminal device to the target access network device based on at least the first information. In this manner, in embodiments of this disclosure, the target access network device can perform access control on the terminal device during cross-network access, to reduce an access latency, reduce a service interruption problem caused by session rejection of the terminal device, and ensure service continuity of the terminal device.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to radio resource control (RRC) reestablishment methods and apparatuses. In one example method, a terminal device selects a target cell, where the target cell supports an expected network slice. The terminal device sends an RRC reestablishment request message by using the target cell. The expected network slice may include a network slice that the terminal device expects to access, or a network slice corresponding to a PDU session established by the terminal device by using a last serving access network device of the terminal device. The terminal device may select the target cell within a preset time period. For example, the terminal device starts a first timer when the terminal device starts selecting the target cell, and selects the target cell during running of the first timer. The first timer may be specific to one or more network slices or all network slices.

In the communication system, the master base station sends a first message to the secondary base station for allocating transmission resources for one or more flows to be transmitted between the secondary base station and a terminal, wherein the first message carries one or both of: identification information of each flow to be transmitted, and information of a data radio bearer (DRB) associated with each flow to be transmitted, then the secondary base station may determine a mapping relationship between a DRB and an admitted flow according to the first message. Moreover, the master base station sends DRB configuration information to the terminal.
