Abstract: A data transmitting device communicating with a data receiving device includes a touch display unit displaying a plurality of icons and a control unit. The controlling module determines a first starting position, a touch path, and a first end position of a touch of a user, and a selected icon according to the first starting position, and calculates a transmission progress of data transmission. When the first end position is located on the predetermined position, the data corresponding to the selected icon and position information associated with the first starting position, the touch path, and the first end position are transmitted to the data receiving device. The selected icon is moved from the first starting position to the first end position along the touch path according to the transmission progress. A data transmitting device and a data transmitting media are also provided.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a communication unit communicate with a network, a processing unit, and a storage unit. The processing unit controls the communication unit to transmit keywords to the network in response to user input, and controls the communication unit to transmit a download request of addresses of searched content of the network to target mobile terminal(s) selected from at least one mobile terminal communicating with the communication unit. The download request searches the network for content associated with the download addresses, the searched content are downloaded to the target mobile terminal(s).

Abstract: An electronic device includes a communication unit, a storage unit, a display unit, and a processing unit. The communication unit receives messages. The storage unit stores the messages, a label table, and a preference table. The processing unit reads the messages, parses data structure of the messages to obtain content type label of the messages in the message, identifies the content type according to the label table, determines whether there is a desired message according to the preference table and displays the message if the message is a desired message. A communication management method is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic reading apparatus comprises an input unit receiving input operations, a detect unit detecting and capturing images reflected by the input unit and a processing unit configured to receive the images to generate interruption signals; determine whether the number of the interruption signals reaches a pre-determined value in a pre-determined time; calculate a movement direction and a distance of the object on the input unit if the number of the interruption signals reaches the pre-determined value in the pre-determined time; determine a cursor displacement on the display unit and display a movement track of the cursor on a display unit. An input method for previewing files is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a stylus, a touch screen, and a processing unit. The touch screen includes a plurality of touch spots arranged in a matrix. The stylus includes a flexible and conductive nib including a plurality of flexible sub-nibs, and a body for receiving the nib and sub-nibs. The sub-nibs touching the touch screen causes changes in the charges of the touch spots actually touched. The processing unit determines the number of the touch spots which have been touched according to changes in the charges of the touch spots, and controls the weight or lightness of the corresponding stroke displayed on the touch screen according to the determined number of the touched touch spots.

Abstract: An electronic reader includes a display unit, and a processing unit. The processing unit includes a file retrieving module, a refreshing mode control module, a block setting module, and a display control module. The file retrieving module retrieves one or more shapes or figures, to be displayed for effect, and the content of a new target page when a content updating signal is received. The refreshing mode control module controls the electronic reader to operate in a refreshing mode. The block setting module determines the blocks to be refreshed and the order in which the blocks are to be refreshed. The display control module controls the display unit to firstly update the content of a block with the one or more shapes or figures, and then update with retrieved new content by refreshing the blocks one after another in a predetermined procedural order. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic reader includes an input unit, a storage unit, a display unit, and a processing unit. The input unit generates a content updating signal in response to user's operation. The processing unit includes a file retrieving module, a mode control module, a block setting module, and a display control module. The file retrieving module retrieves content of an electronic file for displaying on the display screen of the display unit, in response to the content updating signal. The mode control module controls the electronic reader to operate in a refreshing mode in which the display screen is divided into a plurality of predetermined blocks. The block setting module determines one or more blocks. The display control module controls the display unit to update the content at the determined blocks with the corresponding retrieved content by refreshing the determined blocks one after another. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic device with a touch screen device selectively displaying one of a plurality of desktop screens is disclosed. Each desktop screen includes function icons and page icons associated with desktop screens. The electronic device further includes a function icon sensing module, a function icon moving module, a page icon sensing module and a page flipping module. The function icon sensing module senses touch on the function icons. The function icon moving module moves the function icon when an icon move operation has been performed. The page icon sensing module senses the touch on a page icon. The page flipping module controls the touch screen device to display a desired desktop screen associated with the selected page icon and add the selected function icon to the desired desktop screen. A method of moving function icon and one or more computer readable storage media comprising computer executable instructions are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method for preventing fake charging of an electronic apparatus is provided. The method includes: providing a power management table for setting function units for each power range; activating a fake charging preventing function according to a predetermined condition or an activating operation of users; detecting power of the electronic apparatus every a first predetermined time interval; determining a current power range the detected power falls into; determining whether the current power range is changed; beginning to time when the current power range is changed; activating function units which are disabled and whose power range is the current power range when the timing reaches a second predetermined time interval and the detected power is still in the current power range.

Abstract: A method used in a digital photo frame (DPF) with television function is provided. The DPF has a DPF mode for playing multimedia files stored in a storage and a television (TV) mode for playing TV programs received by a TV receiving module. The method includes: fetching TV program information from a TV program schedule when the DPF is in the DPF mode; detecting whether at least one TV program is airing soon or currently aired at the current time; displaying a TV listing menu prompt containing information on the at least one “airing soon” or “currently aired” TV program; receiving a mode switching signal and changing the operational mode of the DPF to the TV mode; and receiving and playing one of the “airing soon” or “currently aired” TV programs.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing defining an opening, a circuit board fixed in the housing, a processor, and a wheel module. The wheel module includes a seat, a cantilevered arm, a wheel rotatably fixed to the cantilevered arm and partially extending out of the opening, an encoder fixed to the cantilevered arm, and a micro switch fixed to the seat. One end of the cantilevered arm is fixed to the seat, and an opposite end is free. The cantilevered arm is deformable so as to enable the free end to actuate the micro switch, when the cantilevered arm is depressed. The actuated micro switch then generates a trigger signal. The encoder is configured to convert the rotation of the wheel to corresponding electrical signals, when the wheel is rotated. The processor controls the electronic device to perform preset functions according to the trigger signal or the electrical signals.

The electronic device includes a display unit defining an signal display area; an infrared input device including a circuit board having two pairs of oppositely disposed sides defining an open area corresponding in size and shape to the signal display area, at least one light emitting device positioned on the circuit board, configured for emitting infrared light; at least one light detecting device positioned on the circuit board, configured for detecting infrared light emitted; a micro-processing unit configured for controlling the at least one light emitting device to emit infrared light, detecting infrared light paths obstructed via the light detecting devices, sending information of the obstructed infrared light paths to a central processing unit(CPU); and the CPU configured for performing functions according to the information of the obstructed infrared light paths.

Abstract: A light directing member for an infrared touch screen device is provided. The infrared touch screen includes a touch screen having a first side and an opposing second side, an infrared emitter for emitting infrared light beams toward the light directing element, and a plurality of infrared receivers arranged along the first side of the touch screen. The light directing member is positioned at the second side of the touch screen, and includes an outwardly curved surface facing the infrared emitter and a plurality of reflective slanted surfaces. The curved surface collimates the infrared light beams emitted from the infrared emitter into parallel infrared light beams. The plurality of reflective slanted surfaces are aligned with the respective infrared receivers, and for receiving and reflecting corresponding portions of the collimated parallel beams to the respective infrared receivers. Abstract: A method with television (TV) tuning function applied on a digital photo frame (DPF) is provided. The method includes: fetching a prompt time of at least one particular TV program; determining whether a prompt time of a particular TV program is about to arrive or has already arrived at the current time; fetching a prompt signal of the particular TV program whose prompt time is about to arrive or has already arrived, and outputting the prompt signal to prompt a particular TV program is being aired or about to air; switching the DPF from the DPF mode to a TV mode and providing the channel parameter of the particular TV program upon receiving a mode switching signal during the outputting of the prompt signal; and; and receiving and playing the particular TV program according to the channel parameter. Abstract: The present invention provides a portable electronic device. The device includes a first controller, a second controller, a mode switch unit, and a main controller. The mode switch unit is for a user to operate thereby generating a mode switch instruction. The main controller is for switching a work mode according to the mode switch instruction from the mode switch unit. When the mode switch unit generates a first mode switch instruction, the device enters a common work mode whereby the main controller activates the first controller and the second controller to be on standby; and when the mode switch unit generates a second mode switch instruction, the device enters a single work mode whereby the main controller activates only one of the first controller and the second controller to be on standby.

Abstract: A power switch circuit providing voltage to an output port is provided. The switch circuit includes a single power supply, a switch unit, a controlling unit, and a logic unit. The switch unit is connected between the single power supply and an output port and capable of being turned on and off alternatively for continuing or discontinuing power from the single power supply to the output port; the single power supply provides power to the output port. The controlling unit is configured for generating a voltage controlling signal and transmitting the voltage controlling signal to the logic unit. The logic unit receives and inverts the voltage controlling signal, and outputs the inverted voltage controlling signal to turn on or turn off the switch unit.

Abstract: A digital photo frame (DPF) includes a power source, a display panel, a light detector, a motion detector, a processing unit, and a power management unit. The light detector is configured to detect the ambient brightness. The motion detection unit is configured to detect whether anyone is around. The processing unit is connected to the light detector and the motion detector. If the motion detector detects someone is around the DPF and the light detector detects the ambient brightness is below a predetermined value, the processing unit controls the power management unit to provide power to the display panel.

Abstract: A display testing method applied on an apparatus is provided, the apparatus being connected with an image capturing device. The method includes: controlling the image capturing device to capture and store images of displays to be tested; determining a first vertex of a test area on the captured image, determining a test area according to the determined first vertex; and testing parameters of the display according to the test area.

Abstract: An I2C multi-slot circuit system includes a plurality of I2C slots for receiving a plurality of slave processors, a CPU, a logic control unit, and a I2C switch unit. The CPU determines an address of one of the I2C slots which to-be-transmitted data will be transmitted to, and generates a first logic control signal according to the determined address. The logic control unit enables the one of the I2C slots which the to-be-transmitted data will be transmitted to according to the first logic control signal. The I2C switch unit receives and transmits I2C signal converted from the to-be-transmitted data by the CPU to the I2C slot. A related method is also provided.
