    Abstract: The present invention relates to isocyanto-acylurethanes corresponding to Formula I ##STR1## wherein R has a valency of m+n and is a hydrocarbon group,R' is a hydrocarbon group andm and n may be identical or different, and each have a value of 1 or 2.The present invention also relates to a process for preparation of these isocyanato-acylurethanes which comprises reacting isocyanato-carboxylic acid chlorides with carbamic acid esters. Finally, the present invention is directed to the use of these isocyanato-acylurethanes as intermediate products for the production of thermally cross-linkable synthetic resins or synthetic resin precursors and also as intermediate products for the preparation of cross-linking agents for synthetic resins.

    Abstract: Molded articles are produced in a two-stage process. In the first stage, an organic polyisocyanate is reacted with an organic compound containing at least two epoxide groups (NCO: epoxide equivalent ratio of 1.2:1 to 500:1) in the presence of a tertiary amine catalyst. This reaction is stopped when no more than 65% of the isocyanate groups have reacted by adding an alkylating sulfonic acid alkyl ester of methyl iodide and/or of dimethyl sulfate in an amount equivalent to the amount of tertiary amine catalyst present. A latent catalyst capable of being activated by heat is subsequently added to the intermediate product and the resultant mixture is heated in a mold to complete the crosslinking of the intermediate product and to form the molded article.

    Abstract: A stiff, water resistant laminated medical or veterinary dressing is described along with a procedure for forming the final hardened dressing. The dressing is obtained by treating a gypsum bandage with an aqueous dispersion of a synthetic resin and then forming a layer from it which is immediately adjacent to a layer formed from a water hardenable synthetic resin bandage. Either layer may be formed first and further layers may be formed so long as the layers alternate between those formed from wraps of the gypsum bandages and those formed from wraps of the synthetic resin bandage.

    Abstract: A thermosetting reactive resin mixture is made from an organic polyisocyanate, a polyepoxide and a heat activatable catalyst. The catalyst is a tertiary or quaternary ammonium salt of an alkylating or acidic ester of an organic phosphonic acid or of phosphoric acid. The polyisocyanate and polyepoxide are used in quantities such that the equivalent ratio of isocyanate groups to epoxide groups is from 1.2:1 to 70:1. These mixtures may be heated to produce plastics having excellent heat resistance, moisture and abrasion resistance, low dielectric losses and excellent molding properties.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the production of water- and solvent-resistant coatings by coating substrates with an aqueous coating composition containing as binder a mixture of(1) reaction products, containing anionic structural units of the formula ##STR1## in a quantity of 5 to 1200 milliequivalents per 100 g of said reaction products, obtained by reacting organic polyisocyanates with salts of cyanamide and bases selected from ammonia, volatile primary and secondary amines having a pKb-value of at least 3.1 and any volatile aliphatic tertiary amines and(2) polyepoxides having at least two epoxide groups per molecule and an epoxide equivalent of at least about 80, said polyepoxides being used in a quantity corresponding to an equivalent ratio of epoxide groups to anionic structural units of about 0.1:1 to 3:1, andcross-linking the binder at a temperature of about 5 to 200.degree. C. The present invention is also directed to the aqueous coating composition based on components 1 and 2.
