  • Patent number: 8730860
Abstract: The present invention proposes a solution for providing multicast/broadcast service to users roaming between different operational domains. In particular it is proposed to provide means enabling the user to contact a home multicast/broadcast server. Said means might be a request being triggered by the user. Said request includes a network identifier identifying the visited operational domain, which is provided to the multicast/broadcast server. The latter decides on a provision method for providing the at least one multicast/broadcast service to the user in the visited operational domain considering rules for a provision of multicast/broadcast services in the visited operational domain and the request triggered by the user. Further the multicast/broadcast server determines a second parameter set for accessing the at least one multicast/broadcast service in the visited operational domain according to the provision method and informs the user about the second parameter set.

  • Patent number: 8724585
Abstract: The present invention relates to providing a generic control plane in a GTP mobility protocol in a core network. When a type of user plane is detected, a user plane parameter is provided in a control plane message header. The user plane message indicates the type of user plane. Functions, parameters and messages are provided according to the indicated type of user plane. Thus, e.g. easier hand over between different access networks can be provided and an optimization of the user plane implementation in an edge node.

  • Publication number: 20140029515
Abstract: Methods for managing device connectivity of machine type communications devices include receiving a packet data protocol based command addressed to a Machine Type Communication (MTC) device, determining if the MTC device has an active packet data protocol context, in response to determining that the MTC device does not have an active packet data protocol context, activating a packet data protocol context for the MTC device, and forwarding the packet data protocol based command to the MTC device.

  • Patent number: 8626235
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include a method and system for operating a dual mode terminal that includes a wireless local area network interface and a cellular radio interface. According to an embodiment, the dual mode terminal camps on the cellular radio interface when idle. When a Page Request message is received over the cellular radio interface, the terminal determines whether wireless local area network coverage is possible from an access point providing wireless local area network cellular communication. If so, the terminal processes the incoming communication request over the wireless local area network towards another party, wherein then the communication is ended, the terminal goes back to camp on the cellular channel.

  • Publication number: 20130115983
Abstract: A method and system for forwarding information to a device in a communication network are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes selecting a serving node to which to send a request. The selected serving node is one of plurality of serving nodes, each of the plurality of serving nodes supporting a different access technology. The request is to transmit one of a short messaging service, SMS, message and trigger information. The request includes a list of the plurality of nodes. The method further includes sending the request to the selected serving node via a translation interface associated with the selected serving node. The translation interface is adapted to use a protocol that corresponds to the access technology of the selected serving node. If the selected serving node cannot reach the device, the request is forwarded to another serving node in the list of serving nodes in the request.

  • Patent number: 8386900
Abstract: The invention relates to error control for point-to-multipoint (PTM) transmissions of content data over a radio interface. A method embodiment for controlling a PTM transmission in a PTM-enabled network comprises the steps of receiving and storing redundancy data at a dedicated redundancy data storage in a radio access network, wherein the redundancy data are provided for a correction of transmission errors in the content data resulting from the transmission of the content data without the redundancy data over one or more radio interfaces; receiving a request for redundancy data from a redundancy data control node; and responding to the redundancy data request by providing at least a portion of the redundancy data.

  • Publication number: 20120302229
Abstract: A machine-to-machine communication proxy node is presented herein. The proxy node may be used as a translation device in machine-to-machine communications. For example, if an application server in a packet based network initiates communication with device in a mobile network, the proxy node may be utilized to translate application domain specific device identities coded in the format of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Uniform Resource Identifier's (URI's) to mobile specific identities such as IMSI and establish communication connection in the mobile network. This identifying of mobile devices may be utilized to replace the commonly used E.164 Mobile Subscriber Integrated Services Digital Network (MSISDN) numbers for identifying mobile devices.

  • Publication number: 20120202508
Abstract: A server for controlling user MTC devices. The server ascertains if a user MTC device has an IP connection to a cellular access network, and if so, sends a message to trigger the user MTC device to initiate an application defined in the message. If a user MTC device does not have an IP connection, the server ascertains if the user MTC device is a mobile or a stationary user MTC device, and for a stationary user MTC device, the server sends a message to the cellular access network to trigger the user MTC device to initiate an IP connection, and for a mobile user MTC device, waits until the user MTC device has an IP connection, and for both kinds of user MTC devices, when the user MTC device has an IP connection, transmits a message to the user MTC device to initiate an application defined in the message.

  • Publication number: 20110217416
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel drinking yoghurt and a process for manufacturing thereof. While this drinking yoghurt has the same flavour and organoleptic characteristics as traditional drinking yoghurt, it has a different protein structure and a different composition with regard to the content of casein and whey proteins. In particular, the drinking yoghurt comprises casein and whey protein in a casein:whey protein ratio of from 4:96 to 12:88 (w/w). The drinking yoghurt can be made without the formation of a coagulum after fermentation. In addition, the invention provides a process for the manufacturing of such a drinking yoghurt, comprising adding a quantity of whey product base to a quantity of milk product base to prepare a drinking yoghurt comprising casein and whey proteins in a casein:whey protein ratio of from 4:96 to 12:88 (w/w).

  • Publication number: 20110090870
Abstract: The present invention relates to a solution for handling seamless handover between a 3GPP network and a non-3GPP network or two non-3GPP networks. The solution uses a new state information informing about a UE being in an Idle state in relation to the network not currently communicating through. Thus the UE is not immediately detached from the old network but may keep a logical connection and quickly re-attach to the old network if of interest.

  • Publication number: 20110085489
Abstract: The present solution relates to a method in a first core network gateway (220) for providing multimedia broadcast multicast service “MBMS” in a wireless communication network (100). The network (100) comprises a broadcast multicast service center “BM-SC” (245) node which is arranged to be connected to the first core network gateway (220). The network (100) further comprises a second core network gateway (215) arranged to be connected to the first core network gateway (220). Firstly, the first core network gateway (220) receives a MBMS session request from the BM-SC node (245). Then, the first gateway (220) sends a MBMS session response to the BM-SC node (245). The MBMS session request message is then forwarded to the second core network gateway (215). Finally, the first gateway (220) receives a MBMS session response message from the second core network gateway (215). The MBMS session request and response comprises an information field adapted to MBMS.
