  • Patent number: 9668681
Abstract: The invention relates to a measuring device and to a method for measuring parameters of a body tissue using an elongate probe (1) for insertion into the body tissue, comprising at least one optical waveguide (2) for transmitting light beams that runs along the longitudinal axis of the probe within the probe, an exit region (5) from which light beams emitted from the optical waveguide exit into the body tissue, and at least one receiving region (6) through which light beams reflected and/or scattered in the body tissue enter the probe as input light beams on a photodetector or in an optical waveguide (2; 3). The exit region (5) is provided at the distal end of the probe (1) and is oriented at least partially in the longitudinal direction of the probe (1). At least some of the emitted light beams exit the probe in the longitudinal direction of the probe. The at least one receiving region (6) is located at a distance from the distal end of the probe on a lateral circumferential region of the probe.

  • Patent number: 6695686
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for generating a two-phase gas-particle jet for treating surfaces by means of particles, in particular CO2 dry ice particles (22), using a two-phase gas-particle jet. To this end, the CO2 dry ice particles (22) are fed with a, tangential flow to a blasting chamber (30) in such a manner that the CO2 dry ice particles (22) are forced into a rotational movement about an axis of flow (50), the angular velocity of this rotational movement then being increased in the direction of flow by means of a blasting nozzle (40), so that maximum speeds occur in the blasting-nozzle outlet (42). The two-phase gas-particle jet emerging from the blasting-nozzle outlet (42) is formed in such a way that the solid-phase CO2 dry ice particles (22) are arranged in a uniform ring shape with an enlarged external diameter. The invention achieves in particular a considerable rise in the surface power when cleaning surfaces by means of CO2 dry ice particles (22).

  • Patent number: 5307553
Abstract: A crimping tool resembling tongs is disclosed, with an anvil in which, by means of the swing of a handle, a component can be supplied, via a feed device, to the anvil and in the latter is capable of being crimped with the cable end, where the swing motion of the handle is transmitted via a transmission mechanism to close the anvil, which is designed so that the anvil, at the end of the swing range of the handle, is to open for removal of the crimp connection. Feed of the component to the anvil is effected by means of a transport linkage and a transport fork, which by way of a control element are in active communication with the transmission mechanism, so that the rate of motion of the transport fork is capable of being influenced in the entire range of swing of the movable handle.

  • Patent number: 3954513
Abstract: For the purpose of improving the economics of flame cutting and the qualiive characteristics of flame-cut components, and with the object of developing a method of flame cutting, particularly precision flame cutting, wherein the interaction between the cutting oxygen and the molten metal flow is qualitatively varied in such a way that the speed-inhibiting effect of the contamination boundary layer is considerably reduced and the cutting speed increased whilst maintaining the cutting quality, the invention proposes the adoption of certain defined operating parameters of a cutting torch with a conically expanded cutting nozzle of circular cross-section and ranges of oxygen pressures, appropriate to different thicknesses of the cut.
