    Abstract: A tape cassette of a relatively small size for use in portable tape devices and the like. The cassette is formed out of two displaceable sections containing respective winding spools for the tape wherein in the sections move from a first position in which the cassette is relatively small to a second or expanded position wherein the cassette can be used in a larger tape device. A receiving container is provided adapted to receive the tape cassette to provide an outer dimension of a larger size, such as that utilizable in a standard video player/recorder.

    Abstract: A television receiver is provided for use as a picture display terminal for electronic peripheral equipment, where a control system with a data-bus is built into the television receiver for multitude of commands and in which the television receiver is intended to be used in addition to the normal direct reception of televised pictures for other possible applications. The television receiver can serve as a monitor for a picture tape recorder, which is equipped for recording independently of the television receiver. A complete television receiving set is provided with automatic transmitter seeking mechanism and electronic channel storage.

    Abstract: A system is provided for increasing the recording/play-back time for video tape devices. A tape is utilized on which signals are recorded in one direction for one half the tape width and in the opposite direction for the other half of the tape width. The tape drive mechanism automatically reverses at the end of feed in each direction and when the tape feed direction changes the relative vertical position of the tape head (or heads) with respect to the tape also changes.
