  • Publication number: 20060081296
Abstract: The invention relates to a shut-off fitting comprising a housing which is connected to an adjacent pipeline in a pressure tight manner, the diameter of said pipeline defining a tubular passage in the housing. Said fitting also comprises at least one closing body which can be displaced between an open position and a closed position. The inventive shut-off fitting is characterized in that the at least one closing body can be displaced by an articulated mechanism, by means of an actuator which can be vertically displaced in relation to the flow direction, in such a way that it is arranged outside the tubular passage in its open position. The closing body has a contour which is adapted to the contour of the tubular passage, in the open position, and is located on the tubular passage in a radially sealing manner.

  • Publication number: 20050152163
Abstract: In a circuit arrangement for operating light sources, inexpensive technologies for power factor correction can be used in combination. A resonant capacitor in a reactance network for coupling the light source is of dual design (C51, C52). A degree of freedom is thus produced which makes it possible to optimize the costs of the said circuit arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20050151481
Abstract: In a circuit arrangement for operating light sources, inexpensive technologies for power factor correction can be used in combination. • Patent number: 6873122
Abstract: An apparatus for operating a plurality of discharge lamps is to be designed so as to be more cost-effective. A first current control device, in particular a heat-sensitive resistor having a positive temperature coefficient, is connected in parallel with a first contact device for electrically connecting a first discharge lamp. Furthermore, a second contact device for electrically connecting a second discharge lamp is connected in parallel with a second current control device, the first and second contact devices being connected in series. A defined preheating period for the lamps can therefore be achieved. By using a sequential starting capacitor in parallel with one of the lamps, impermissible load current surges may be avoided.

  • Publication number: 20050048959
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for renewing program files of a programmable, mobile telecommunications terminal, according to which the program files are transmitted from a telecommunications network to the telecommunications terminal via the air interface. The aim of the invention is to allow the program files to be renewed in a simple and cost-effective manner and with little effort. To achieve this, the terminal type is determined by the telecommunications network, new program files that exist in devices of the telecommunications network, or are available elsewhere are determined and made available for the identified terminal type and the existing new program files are automatically transmitted to the terminal via the air interface.

  • Patent number: 6806657
Abstract: A device for operating a plurality of discharge lamps (71, 72) is to be fashioned cost effectively. Two lamps (71, 72) are therefore operated in a single load circuit. In the preheating phase, the incandescent filaments (711, 712, 721, 722) are supplied with preheating current either directly or via a transformer (Ls, Lp). The preheating current is controlled via a temperature-dependent resistor (PTC) in such a way that the continuous heating current is greatly reduced over all the filaments during the operation of the lamp.

  • Publication number: 20040100211
Abstract: A device for operating a plurality of discharge lamps is to be fashioned cost-effectively. Consequently, two discharge lamps (71, 72) are operated with the aid of one ballast in whose load circuit the heating current for the individual incandescent filaments (711, 712, 721, 722) is transmitted via a heating transformer with three secondary windings (Lhs1, Lhs2, Lhs3). The associated primary winding (Lhp) is located in a coupling-out circuit (30) with the aid of which the required heating energy is coupled out via an inductor (Lres). The heating current can be controlled by means of a temperature-sensitive thermistor (PTC).

  • Patent number: 6710552
Abstract: In the case of circuit arrangements for operating gas-discharge lamps (Lp), a charge pump (D5, D6, C31, C32) is often used for the purposes of power-factor correction. If this is the case, poorly igniting lamps (Lp) experience an increase in voltage across a storage capacitor (C1). This is avoided according to the invention by a PTC (KL) in parallel with diodes (D5, D6) of the charge pump.
