    Abstract: A storage rack mounting device for releasably storing a plurality of tape storage compartments or modules therein. The storage compartments are utilized to hold a plurality of tapes, sch as computer tapes, therein. The rack includes a frame to hold a plurality of tape storage compartments and comprises two opposed sidewalls spaced apart to receive the tape storage compartments therebetween. Upper and lower mounting flanges extend outwardly from the interiors of each of the sidewalls to hold therebetween the tape storage compartment and to permit the tape storage compartment to be introduced and removed from the frame. The storage compartments have two sidewalls, at least one of which has an opening therethrough and a peripheral edge thereabout to releasably engage a locking flange which extends rearwardly and outwardly at an angle from the interior of the sidewall.

    Abstract: A storage compartment device and system for releasably storing a plurality of tape cartridges therein. The device basically comprises storage compartment means, at least one partitioning means, tape cartridge positioning means and tape cartridge securing means. The storage compartment means comprises a storage compartment having an opening and an interior for removably securing a plurality of tape cartridges therein. The partitioning means of the device partitions the interior of the storage compartment into sections and guides each of the tape cartridges into and out of its respective section. The tape cartridge positioning means is adjacent each of the sections for movably positioning the tape cartridge and to permit independent insertion and retrieval of each of the tape cartridges. In addition, the tape cartridge securing means is located adjacent each of the sections and releasably secures each of the tape cartridges therein.

    Abstract: An apparatus for depositing electrostatically and magnetically responsive particulate matter on a conductive surface having an electrostatically charged latent image comprises an elongate permanent magnet that is disposed adjacent to the conductive surface and that is capable of producing a magnetic field having a region of concentrated magnetic flux that permeates the surface and also a region of dilute magnetic flux that is inclined and generally adjacent to the surface, a hopper for storing the particulate matter, and a channel connected to the hopper disposed in the region of dilute magnetic flux having two opposite converging walls that terminate adjacent to the conductive surface in the region of concentrated magnetic flux. The particulate matter when introduced to the region of dilute magnetic flux is caused to be moved by magnetic forces and gravitational forces from the region of dilute magnetic flux to the region of concentrated magnetic flux.
