  • Publication number: 20100013917
Abstract: A method and system for performing surveillance includes receiving location information for a detected object via a first sensor and slewing a second sensor to the detected object in accordance with the location information provided by the first sensor. In one embodiment, the first sensor detects the presence of the object (which may or may not be moving), and the second sensor provides more refined or specific information about the detected object, such as a higher-resolution image of the detected object.

  • Patent number: 7260274
Abstract: Systems and techniques for synthesizing high-resolution images are described. Using as input hybrid high- and low-resolution images (110, 120), processing techniques including three-dimensional image warp-based (160) rendering may assist in developing the high-resolution output images. Enhanced results may in some instances be obtained by creating a high-resolution images of one member of a pair of stereo images by utilizing multiple frames of the other member of the pair.

  • Patent number: 7020351
Abstract: A method and apparatus for indexing digital video and audio signals using a digital database. A user may index the digital images by content within the images, through annotation, and the like. The database can contain high resolution and low resolution versions of the audio-video content. The indexed video can be used to create web pages that enable a viewer to access the video clips. The indexed video may also be used to author digital video disks (DVDs). The video may be enhanced to achieve DVD quality or be accessed to enhancing the digital signals and indexing the digital signals. The user may choose to enhance the digital signals by combining frames into a panorama, enhancing the resolution of the frames, filtering the images, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6956573
Abstract: A method and concomitant apparatus for comprehensively representing video information in a manner facilitating indexing of the video information. Specifically, a method according to the inveniton comprises the steps of dividing a continuous video stream into a plurality of video scenes; and at least one of the steps of dividing, using intra-scene motion analysis, at least one of the plurality of scenes into one or more layers; representing, as a mosaic, at least one of the pluraliy of scenes; computing, for at least one layer or scene, one or more content-related appearance attributes; and storing, in a database, the content-related appearance attributes or said mosaic representations.

  • Publication number: 20030076982
Abstract: The system generates novel views by an improved optical flow method, which uses multiple hypotheses. This method starts with the selection of a first image and a second image from a plurality of digital images. Then the second image is separated into discrete sections and the first image is separated into a number of features. It is hypothesized that each feature may map into any of the discrete sections of the second image. A direct optical flow method is used to find the local optimal solution for each feature in each hypothesized section. Finally a globally optimal solution is selected for each feature from among the local solutions.

  • Patent number: 6313452
Abstract: A microscopy system comprising a microscope including a stage, at least one magnifying lens, and a lens controller, a video capture device coupled to the microscope capturing a plurality of images of an object on the stage of the microscope and a processing subsystem receiving the plurality of images from the video capture device, in which the processing subsystem generates at least one resultant image as a function of the plurality of images. The at least one resultant image generated by the processing subsystem may include a mosaic, submosaic or a sequence of mosaics.
