  • Patent number: 10887364
Abstract: Internet streaming from broadcast radio or television stations is described wherein triggers for dynamic content from internal or external systems cause an encoder system to generate command messages, and optionally to synchronize those command messages with any delays associated with the triggering events. Command messages are delivered through a streaming media distribution system to client media players which obtain or present the dynamic content, in association with any desired configuration changes to the appearance of the media player or the method or manner in which the dynamic content is presented.

  • Patent number: 9860295
Abstract: Internet streaming from broadcast radio may carry replacement ads for those ads broadcast terrestrially. Video ads may replace audio ads. Some Internet media players are not capable of playing video ads, and for those the audio-only portion of the video ad is streamed. Script commands are sent to compatible media players capable of video, causing them to access and play the actual video ad.

  • Patent number: 9418669
Abstract: Radio stations broadcasting syndicated content for which the broadcast automation system is not provided with the artist and title of songs has a software application in an associated computer that receives and analyzes the audio stream to detect songs, and creates a digital fingerprint of the songs. Fingerprints are compared against an acoustic fingerprinting song database to obtain the artist and title of the song. When a match is discovered, the song artist and title are provided to encoding software that inserts the artist and title into the radio station's digital broadcast for receipt and display by compatible radio receivers, and are transmitted on the Internet to simulcast media players of listeners for presentation of the artist and title of songs as they are playing.

  • Patent number: 9219770
Abstract: Internet streaming from broadcast radio or television stations is described wherein triggers for dynamic content originated from a system having a TCP Channel to a TCP Distribution Service are received by an encoder system also having a TCP Channel, and cause the encoder system to generate command messages, and optionally to synchronize those command messages with any delays associated with the triggering events. Command messages are delivered through a streaming media distribution system to client media players which obtain or present the dynamic content, in association with any desired configuration changes to the appearance of the media player or the method or manner in which the dynamic content is presented.

  • Publication number: 20140335834
Abstract: A smart phone application is configured to connect to and listen to the audio output of the smart phone, and using DSP software, to detect the presence of music, and when a song is detected, to create an acoustic fingerprinting of the song, and compare that fingerprint against song fingerprints in a database. When a match is found, the artist and title of the song is available for display on the smart phone and is stored in a listing.

  • Publication number: 20140336797
Abstract: A method and system to monitor and audit the audio output of a broadcaster to determine songs and commercials that are played by the implementation of a computer application at a broadcaster that receives the broadcaster's audio output, determines transitions between audio content, upon detecting a transition, creates an acoustic fingerprint of that content, compares the fingerprint against a database of song fingerprints, and upon finding a match of a fingerprint of an audio item in the database, recording that occurrence in an accounting system with reference to the broadcaster.

  • Publication number: 20140336799
Abstract: Radio receivers have wireless communication to an associated smart phone, and transmit a copy of the audio output in digital format to an application in the smart phone. The smart phone application detects the beginning of a song, creates an acoustic fingerprint of the song, and obtains the artist and title of the song from an acoustic fingerprinting database of songs. The artist and title are delivered by the smart phone to the radio receiver, and are presented on the radio receiver's display screen.
