  • Publication number: 20230328775
Abstract: Systems and methods for changing Listen Before Talk (LBT) for unlicensed networks are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device includes: receiving signaling from a base station that indicates when the wireless device uses LBT for transmissions; determining, based on the received signaling, whether or not to use LBT for transmissions; and transmitting based on the determination whether or not to use LBT for transmissions. Some embodiments provide a low complexity (in term of signaling overhead and specification impact) approach of adaptively using LBT mechanism by defining two simple modes for LBT operation (LBT and No LBT modes). Some embodiments reduce the probability of simultaneous transmissions that cause collisions, by using LBT mode, in environments and circumstances where network performance suffers from collision and/or interferences.

  • Publication number: 20230314983
Abstract: Systems and methods relating to accurate Channel State Information (CSI) measurements for a License Assisted Secondary Cell (LA SCell) are disclosed herein. An exemplary user equipment enabled includes a transceiver, at least one processor, and memory containing instructions executable by the at least one processor whereby the user equipment operates to detect whether a downlink control information (DCI) message indicating that a Channel State Information Reference Symbol (CSI-RS) transmission from an LA SCell of the user equipment is present in a subframe. When the user equipment detects that the DCI message indicates that a CSI-RS transmission from the LA SCell is present in the subframe, it processes a CSI-RS measurement. When the user equipment detects that the DCI message does not indicate that a CSI-RS transmission from the LA SCell is present in the subframe, it refrains from processing the CSI-RS measurement.

  • Patent number: 11743944
Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method for use in a user equipment (UE) of managing a listen-before-talk (LBT) contention window size comprises receiving scheduling for a current burst of contiguous uplink subframes. For each subframe the scheduling comprises an associated hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process identifier and a new data indicator (NDI). The method determines a reference subframe based on a previously-scheduled burst of contiguous uplink subframes. The reference subframe is associated with a reference HARQ process identifier. When the UE determines the HARQ process identifier associated with a subframe of the current scheduled burst of contiguous uplink subframes matches the reference HARQ process identifier and the NDI indicates new data, the method resets the LBT contention window. When the reference HARQ process identifier matches, but the associated NDI indicates a retransmission, or the HARQ process identifier does not match, the method increments the LBT contention window.
