  • Patent number: 4820245
Abstract: An apparatus for transmitting power by a chain engaged with sprockets incorporates therein with a chain retaining member at a position at which the chain engages with one of the sprockets for maintaining the engagement between the chain and the one sprocket. With the provision of the chain retaining member, even if the chain becomes loose due to elongation with age, disengagement of the chain from the sprockets can be eliminated, resulting in a reduction in the frequency at which the chain tension must be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4811829
Abstract: A main frame of a passenger conveyor has a plurality of frame sections divided along the length thereof. Each adjacent pair of frame sections have opposed joint members provided at joint portions of the frame sections. When the frame sections are provisionally assembled, one of the joint members is formed therein with a positioning hole whereas the other joint member is fixedly connected with a positioning pin which, when the frame sections are re-assembled at an installation site, is engaged with the positioning hole to facilitate easy and quick re-assembly of the frame sections.

  • Patent number: 4674619
Abstract: A passenger conveyor including body frame is formed of a main frame including upper and lower horizontal sections and an inclined section therebetween, and upper and lower auxiliary frames mounted on the upper and lower horizontal sections of the main frame, respectively. A front side of the upper auxiliary frame and the upper horizontal section forms a recessed portion, and a driving device for driving handrail is provided in the recessed portion so that the handrail driving device is positioned over the surface of the upper horizontal section and the width of the passenger conveyor is reduced without changing the height of the handrail driving device. The lower auxiliary frame and the inclined section of the main frame also form a recessed portion and a tension device is disposed in the recessed portion so as to be disposed over the main frame, whereby the passenger conveyor is reduced in width by 100-150 mm.

  • Patent number: 4499986
Abstract: A control apparatus for a passenger conveyor driven by a three-phase induction motor which is capable of being put selectively into a star-connection or a delta-connection mode. A load of the conveyor is detected on the basis of a current and a voltage supplied to the induction motor, so that when the load is large the motor is driven in the delta-connection mode while when the load is small the motor is driven in the star-connection mode so as to save the power consumption of the conveyor when the load is small.
