  • Patent number: 4340261
Abstract: A magnet bearing arrangement comprising a stator and a rotor disposed within the stator. A first set of adjacent annular permanent magnet members is secured to the surface of the rotor and a second set of adjacent annular permanent magnet members is secured to the inner surface of the stator, the first and second sets of permanent magnet members being arranged in axial juxtaposition so as to generate repelling magnetic forces that stabilize movement of the rotor in the radial direction. A plurality of annular windings are positioned on the stator adjacent the second set of permanent magnet members for generating a magnetic force in response to a sensor for stabilizing axial movement of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4242860
Abstract: An apparatus for monitoring the yarn delivered by an open end spinning turbine which has an electric motor for driving the turbine with a predetermined rpm. The apparatus includes a measured value transmitting arrangement responsive to changes in the current consumption of the electric motor for generating a signal when the change in the current consumption exceeds a predetermined threshold value. The measured value transmitting arrangement is responsive to a reduction in the current consumption of the electric motor and generates a yarn breakage indicating signal when the reduction in the current consumption falls below a predetermined value indicative of yarn breakage.

  • Patent number: 4238789
Abstract: In order to monitor irregularities in textile yarn being produced in an open-end spinning turbine of the type having an elastically mounted rotor, there is provided a sensor arranged to sense radial deflections experienced by the rotor or its bearing and associated with the occurrence of such irregularities.

  • Patent number: 4209778
Abstract: In the production of yarn in an open-end spinning turbine having an elastically mounted rotor bearing, a break in the yarn or an operating state which influences yarn quality is detected by means of a sensor which produces a signal representative of radial deflections of the bearing and an evaluation circuit which responds to the absence of and/or a change in the signal component produced by the sensor as a result of radial deflections created by the fiber material present on the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4117359
Abstract: A bearing and drive structure for the funnel-shaped spinning element of an open-end spinning turbine, composed of a stator with a projecting portion carrying an elastically mounted bearing and a rotor with a cup-shaped portion into which the projecting portion of the stator extends, the rotor being carried by the bearing and having its center of gravity at least approximately in the region defined between the axial ends of the flexible bearing, the stator carrying electrical windings cooperating with the cup-shaped rotor portion to form an electrical drive for the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4082376
Abstract: A magnetic bearing arrangement for a rotor rotating in a stator comprises a first magnetic bearing with at least one permanent magnet on the stator or rotor cooperating with component parts on the rotor or stator respectively composed, at least partially, of ferromagnetic and/or permanent magnetic material, a second magnetic bearing with at least one actively controlled electromagnet on the stator cooperating with component parts on the rotor respectively composed at least partially of ferromagnetic and/or permanent magnetic material, and a sensor for sensing the axial position of the rotor and at least one damping circuit for damping oscillations in a radial direction or about axes perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the rotor, the two magnetic bearings having a substantially co-axial construction to provide passive stabilization in a radial direction.

  • Patent number: 3974406
Abstract: In an electrical machine including a rotor, a plurality of permanent magnets mounted on the rotor, a stator spaced from the rotor by an air gap, and electrical windings disposed on the stator to be traversed by the magnetic fields of the permanent magnets, the rotor is elastically or resiliently held relative to the stator by a rotor bearing, the stator includes a stator body made of an electrically nonconductive and nonmagnetizable material for preventing hysteresis losses, eddy current losses, and magnetic reaction forces on the rotor, and the permanent magnets, the windings and stator are arranged for causing the magnetic fields of the permanent magnets to pass through the air gap between rotor and stator, the windings, and the stator body.
