  • Patent number: 4780965
Abstract: Exhaust gases from a heat treatment device operated by a gaseous treatment medium, are cleaned by oxidizing the combustible components of the medium. The exhaust gases already cleaned are used in a first heat exchanger for preheating the gases to be cleaned. The cleaned and heated exhaust gases are then passed through a second heat exchanger for heating a heat carrier medium in a first closed heat carrier circuit connected to the treatment device. The exhaust gases coming from the second heat exchanger are supplied to a third heat exchanger connected to a fourth heat exchanger by a second closed heat carrier circuit for transferring heat to a second carrier medium for heating freshly supplied treatment medium in said fourth heat exchanger.

  • Patent number: 4743889
Abstract: The operating condition of sliding components inserted between a slide or sprocket chain and a guide system for such chain is continuously monitored by an electrical loop conductor which passes through a plurality of sliding components. The electrical conductor is provided with an electrically insulating jacket which is preferably also heat resistant. The loop conductor is inserted into a monitoring circuit including a relay for activating an alarm when the loop conductor is either interrupted or when its insulation is damaged. This happens when any one of the sliding components through which the loop conductor passes, are sufficiently damaged. The alarm signal may also be used to stop the further drive of the sprocket chain.

  • Patent number: 4210050
Abstract: A cutter for cutting continuous stock materials into discrete lengths is disclosed. The cutting device includes a plurality of rotatable cutting tools or blades extending transversely across a cutting zone. The cutting tools are mounted in a common plane, are intermeshed, and are synchronously driven in opposite directions. The cutting zones of the intermeshed cutting tools overlap and thus the cutting device is capable of performing the cutting operation by movement in one direction through the material being cut. The cutting tools have opposed segments that carry cutting edges. In one form of tool, the cutting edges are spaced from the axis of rotation of the cutting tool by a distance that continuously increases in a direction opposite the direction of rotation of the cutting tool. This change in distance can be related to the speed of rotation of the cutting tools and the speed at which the cutting tools are advanced through the material being cut.

  • Patent number: 3960627
Abstract: A glazing including a sheet of glass and a sheet of plastic adhesively fastened thereto is manufactured by assembling into a stack the sheet of glass, the sheet of plastic, a thin flexible protective sheet, and a thick cushion sheet. The stack is enclosed in a bag of rubber or similar flexible material which is evacuated to degas the stack.. The bag with the stack therein is then subjected to heat and pressure in an autoclave to bond together the glass and plastic sheets, whereafter the protective and cushion sheets can be readily separated from the remainder of the stack.
