Patent number: 8418866Abstract: The invention relates to a stopper, provided with an obstructor for a can. Said stopper comprises a cap provided with a central opening and an annular skirt, and an annular shaft extending around the opening, in addition to a capsule which is detachably fixed, by means of a tear element, to a free edge of the shaft opposite the opening. The tear element joining the shaft to the capsule is placed in an entrance area at an angle in the free edge of the shaft. At least one sealing lip is disposed on the inner surface of the shaft, and the cap, skirt and capsule of the stopper are moulded in a single piece without any welding or the addition of another component or detachable part. The invention also relates to a method for the production of said stopper by offset injection in a region which is outside the cap.Type: GrantFiled: June 6, 2011Date of Patent: April 16, 2013Assignee: Tetra Laval Holdings & Finance S.A.Inventors: Gérard Perrin, Henri Pionchon

Patent number: 8376164Abstract: There is described a cap without additional seal for closing an opening of a neck of a container. The cap comprises a closing disc; a peripheral skirt sized to fit around the neck, the peripheral skirt. The cap also comprises a first annular sealing lip projecting downwardly from under the closing disc, near the opening of the neck, the first annular sealing lip being folded against the neck and toward the opening of the neck when the cap is attached onto the neck, thereby allowing neutralization of any backwash effect when the container is moved. The cap also comprise a second annular sealing lip external to the first annular sealing lip and positioned so as to be also folded against the neck, in a direction opposite to that of the first annular sealing lip when the cap is attached onto the neck.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2008Date of Patent: February 19, 2013Assignee: Tetra Laval Holdings & Finance S.A.Inventors: Gérard Perrin, Henri Pionchon

Patent number: 8177083Abstract: A threadless cap for closing a liquid bottle, the liquid bottle having a neck with an upper edge defining a discharge opening. The threadless cap comprises a lid for overlying the upper edge, the lid including a surface for facing the upper edge and a projection extending from the surface toward the upper edge. The threadless cap also comprises a skirt depending from the lid. The threadless cap further comprises a seal member on the surface for establishing a sealing engagement with the upper edge. The seal member includes an arcuate bead of resilient material located on the surface in a position to register with at least a portion of the upper edge. The projection engages and extends along the arcuate bead of resilient material. A blank for such a threadless cap and a method for manufacturing such a threadless cap are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2006Date of Patent: May 15, 2012Assignee: Tetra Laval Holdings & Finance S.A.Inventors: Richard Lamoureux, Gérard Perrin, Henri Pionchon
