Abstract: A disposable wearable absorbent article comprises a chassis having an absorbent core and first and second side panels extending transversally outwards towards respective outer edges. Each of the first and second side panels comprises a mechanical fastening material affixed to an outer end portion of the panel whereby, in use, the first and second side panels can extend around a user's waist to couple the first and second side panels to the chassis. Each of the side panels is gathered in a longitudinal direction to form at least one pleat extending in the transverse direction, and comprises a binding material affixed to respective side panels to maintain each of the first and second side panels in a gathered configuration. A method for forming disposable wearable absorbent articles is also disclosed.

Abstract: A pack module includes a number of absorbent articles and at least one belt to which the absorbent articles can be releasably attached. The belt when placed in the pack module constitutes a gripping device which is intended to act on at least one of the articles and, at least partially, remove at least one absorbent article from the pack module when the gripping device is used. Removal of firmly compressed absorbent articles from a pack module without using additional material in the pack module is thus possible.

Abstract: A belted disposable article including a chassis having first and second end portions and a central portion extending therebetween, the article having a body-oriented surface facing the user during use and a garment-oriented surface facing away from the user in use, the article further including a pair of belt portions attached to the chassis so that a first belt portion and a second belt portion extending on each side of the first end portion of the chassis for securing to each other around a waist of a wearer of the article to form a belt having an exterior surface. In addition, a belt-opening trigger zone is disposed adjacent a free end of at least one of the first and second belt portion. Further, the first and second belt portions are folded over the chassis to form a folded belt configuration prior to use of the article.

Abstract: A method for monitoring use of an absorbent product, such as an incontinence pad or a diaper, worn by a wearer is provided. The method includes obtaining, by way of a mobile device, intake information indicative of intake of fluid and/or solid material by the wearer, obtaining, by way of the mobile device, voiding information indicative of urinary and/or faecal voiding by the wearer, predicting, based on the intake and voiding information, future voiding by the wearer, and providing, by way of the mobile device, product-related information based on the prediction. In this way, the product-wearer or his caregiver can be provided with valuable information related to the use of the product, for example recommendations on when to change the product.

Abstract: A method for determining the location of a fecal insult, includes: detecting the concentration of at least one gas indicative of feces at a plurality of locations in a defined space; and determining whether said concentration of said gas exceeds a predetermined first threshold value. The method includes: detecting the concentration of hydrogen gas at each of said locations; detecting the concentration of at least one further gas component being indicative of feces in said space; and determining that a fecal insult has occurred in a location where said detected concentration of hydrogen gas exceeds said first threshold value, provided that the detected concentration of said further gas component also exceeds a predetermined second threshold value in said location.

Abstract: A method is performed in a mobile device through execution of a first mobile application for monitoring use of a hygiene product worn by a wearer. The method includes providing information related to the hygiene product based on the voiding behaviour of the product-wearer. Furthermore, the method includes retrieving, from a database shared by a plurality of different mobile applications, information that is relevant to the voiding behaviour of the wearer, obtained by at least a second mobile application that is different than the first mobile application, and providing the product-related information based on the retrieved information. The access to voiding relevant information obtained by other mobile applications allows the first mobile application to provide well-founded recommendations to the product-wearer as to the use of the hygiene product.

Abstract: An absorbent article with a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction and including an absorption body which is enclosed in a cover and has at least one absorption layer, the cover having a liquid-permeable surface and a liquid-impermeable surface. The absorption body has a second absorption part which is separate from and displaced in the longitudinal direction from a first absorption part. The first absorption part has a tongue-shaped portion adapted to be arranged in between two legs extending essentially in the longitudinal direction on the second absorption part so that fold indications are formed in the absorption body between the tongue-shaped portion and at least each leg.
