The communication control method includes detecting, by the second functional unit, that a predetermined event related to resource allocation to the lower node is occurred in the first functional unit, and transmitting, by the second functional unit, to the upper node, in a case of detecting occurrence of the predetermined event, a first buffer state report including size information indicating an amount of data having yet to be transmitted to the upper node. The detecting includes detecting the occurrence of the predetermined event by monitoring an event occurring in the first functional unit, or by receiving, from the first functional unit, a notification indicating that the predetermined event is occurred.

    Abstract: A base station allocates unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) preambles for use by UAV user equipment (UE) devices that are different from terrestrial preambles allocated for terrestrial UE devices. The UAV preambles can be allocated to different subscription levels, such that each UAV UE device can only use UAV preambles associated with the UAV UE device's subscription level. The UAV UE device transmits random access request message using the selected UAV preamble and the base station responds with a random access response message indicating whether access is granted to the UAV UE device. The base station can dynamically manage access to the base station by limiting the subscription levels that are associated with the UAV preambles.

    Abstract: A device-specific synchronization signal (DS-SS) is transmitted by a base station within a data channel transmission to a mobile device before a paging time window for the mobile device. After a sleep state, the mobile device attempts to acquire the DS-SS without decoding a downlink control channel to obtain signal transmission information related to transmission of the page message from a base station. In addition to providing timing information for resynchronization, the DS-SS indicates the existence of a page message for the mobile device within the data channel. The mobile device returns to the sleep state in response to not detecting a DS-SS that indicates a page message. Prior to entering a sleep state, the mobile device receives transmission format information indicative of a transmission format of the DS-SS.

    Abstract: A neighboring cell determines that uplink interference from an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) exceeds a first threshold at the neighboring cell. The neighboring cell transmits an uplink interference indicator to the UAV. In some examples, the UAV informs its serving cell of the uplink interference experienced by the neighboring cell. The serving cell can utilize information received from the UAV to make handover decisions or scheduling decisions for the UAV that caused the uplink interference. In other examples, the UAV can temporarily refrain from transmitting on at least some of its uplink resources or utilize different uplink resources for uplink data transmissions. In still other examples, the UAV can utilize downlink measurements to select which neighboring base station System Information Block messages should be monitored for an uplink interference indicator.
