  • Patent number: 6371156
Abstract: A control valve assembly including a no-bleed pilot valve is disclosed. The pilot valve includes a pressure responsive valve adapted to move in connection with a control parameter, such as downstream fluid pressure. The pressure responsive valve selectively connects certain ports with upper and lower chambers of a control valve actuator so that the upstream and downstream fluid pressures may be used to operate the actuator.

  • Patent number: 6102071
Abstract: A fluid control valve having a valve body, a cage, and a flexible elastomeric diaphragm with a formed convolution to fully open the cage opening. An elastomeric diaphragm regulator with a flow diverter in the fluid flow path to reduce fluid flow separation and thereby reduce the required flow recovery area before pressure throttling. A raised knife edge seat located on the cage top in a position of stagnant fluid flow to reduce the build-up of contaminants on the seat. An elastomeric diaphragm regulator with a valve actuator coupled to a guided valve stem attached to the regulator diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 5029813
Abstract: A sliding stem valve for controlling fluid flow in a valve body having a seat, a bonnet, a valve stem and plug slidably mounted in the bonnet for engaging the seat during valve shut-off, and a diaphragm forming a stem seal for preventing the undesired leakage of fluid into the atmosphere. The diaphragm is formed of elastomeric material with bead edges at opposite ends. The top diaphragm bead edge is sealed with a retainer to the bonnet. The bottom diaphragm bead seal is sealed to the valve stem while enabling the valve stem to rotate with respect to the bottom diaphragm bead edge. A sized retainer, bushing and retainer ring mount the bottom diaphragm bead edge to the valve stem and permit slidable motion of the bead edge with the valve stem while enabling the valve stem to rotate with respect to the bead edge and still maintain a viable diaphragm seal.

  • Patent number: 4813648
Abstract: A sanitary valve includes a valve body having a straight-through cylindrical valve chamber terminating in flanges with a valve element support intersecting the valve chamber at a right angle. The valve element is cylindrically shaped with a hemispherical tip that is covered with an elastomeric material which includes a raised circular seal that extends around the circumference of the valve element and a raised U-shaped seal that extends over the tip. The circular seal always engages the supporting means in both the rotatable and sliding versions of the valve to preclude any environmental exposure of the valve chamber.

  • Patent number: 4554943
Abstract: A bidirectional rotary valve capable of use in high pressure flowpaths includes a pair of removable end retainers defining aligned ports and having a single rotatably mounted disc closely positioned therebetween. The disc has ports corresponding to those of the end retainers and is operated by link means coupled to an operating rod slidably mounted in the valve body. Rotation of the disc changes the alignment between its ports and those in the end retainers for controlling flow. The disc is loosely mounted on a bearing pin that is also loosely fitted in the end retainers to permit slight lateral movement of the disc and ready disassembly of the valve. The disc is constructed such that it will flex to a greater degree for a given pressure than the end retainers.

  • Patent number: 4532961
Abstract: A high pressure bidirectional flow throttling valve includes a pair of rotatable throttling discs mounted in a cavity for slight lateral movement in the flowpath. The operating mechanism for rotating the discs includes a toggle arrangement located outside the flowpath.

  • Patent number: 4137934
Abstract: A single-ported double-seated valve mechanism is a valve body means with an inlet and outlet communicated by a flow passage and a chamber for receiving valve trim. A bonnet is secured to the valve body means. Valve trim is fixedly secured to the bonnet and positioned within the chamber. The bonnet and valve trim may be removed from the valve as a unit. An outwardly extending portion of the bonnet is sized to fit within the valve body wherein the valve body serves as a support or vise.

  • Patent number: 4041973
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a valve trim assembly wherein a valve cage member and a valve plug are provided which cannot be independently rotated. A valve stem is affixed to the plug and extends out of the cage. The cage and the stem are threaded for attachment to a valve bonnet and an actuator, respectively, and by rotation of the cage, the cage is attached to the bonnet and the stem is attached to the actuator simultaneously. The stem is prevented from unscrewing from the actuator while the valve is in use, by means of the anti-rotation feature. The trim assembly can thus be installed in, or removed from, a valve quickly and with a minimum number of tools.

  • Patent number: 3991903
Abstract: Described herein is a structure for attachment of two parts of a valve structure in a pressure-tight leakproof relationship, which employs a minimum number of parts and may be quickly disassembled, but which is nonetheless strong, rugged, and durable. This structure includes a first member having two pairs of spaced-apart lugs protruding in a direction generally parallel to the axis of an opening in the first member. A second member is provided which extends into the opening and includes two ears, each ear being adapted for placement between two lugs. The lugs are provided with matching transverse holes, whereby a bolt or pin may be placed through one lug of a pair, then over a portion of an ear, then into the second lug of the pair for securing the two members together in a predetermined relationship. Means are provided for detection of internal pressure in the valve to prevent disassembly thereof prior to removal of the pressure.
