The controller circuitry is configured in combination with the transceiver circuitry to determine a delay time for each of a plurality of communications devices, the delay time being a time taken for the each of the communications devices to receive signals transmitted by the infrastructure equipment, to set a playback time dependent on a longest of the delay times among the plurality of communications devices, the playback time being a time at which one or more of the communications devices should transmit a signal, and to transmit signals to each of the communications devices, the signals comprising an indication of the playback time.

The terminal device receives the indication and uses the corresponding information to control its acquisition of a base station of the wireless telecommunication system, for example by taking account of which base stations support power boosting and/or when power boosting is supported during a cell attach procedure.
